“The Simpsons” is saying goodbye to the voice behind some of its most iconic characters. Pamela Hayden, who voiced Milhouse Van Houten and a slew of other characters, announced she is retiring from the show after 35 years. “The time has come for me to hang up my microphone, but how do I say goodbye to The Simpsons?” Hayden said in a news release. “We named him Milhouse because that was the most unfortunate name a kid could have,” Groening said in a statement. “People come up to me and they quote Milhouse lines,” Hayden said in a video FOX shared Wednesday to commemorate her roles.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — In the months leading up to Election Day, political signs and billboards dotted much of the landscape surrounding this town in southwestern Ohio. Residents, tired and frustrated after their hometown became a national flashpoint in the election over immigration, were trying to move past the intense scrutiny and refocus on the future. We have to live with it,” Jean Philistin, a Haitian resident of Springfield, said of Donald Trump’s victory. After the election, NBC News returned to the town and spoke with more than a dozen residents who offered a mix of hope and fear about the weeks, months and years to come. Mostly, they were hesitant to talk about the election even after its decisive conclusion.

NCRI identified 951 accounts that engaged in “coordinated inauthentic activity” associated with a pro-Harris campaign called #BlueCrew. Researchers have repeatedly documented how propagandists have used automated accounts, or bots, to spread false narratives on social media. NBC NewsNot all accounts that engage in coordinated inauthentic behavior are bots. “These highly inauthentic accounts do more than spread misinformation; they establish a self-reinforcing cycle,” the NCRI report says. “This means that a relatively small subset of orchestrated, inauthentic accounts is responsible for a disproportionately large share of the misleading information being circulated.

Much of Trump's closing message is focused on illegal immigration, one of the centerpieces of his campaign. The interview, which was widely hyped by Trump and his supporters, was a snapshot of his, at best, untraditional attempt at a campaign closing message and, at worst, his tendency to step on his own policy pushes. The discipline of the Harris campaign contrasts with that of Trump, whose late-cycle rallies have maintained the sort of rambling, unfocused structure he has long been known for. That dynamic can be seen even in his final speeches as Trump tries to close out his third presidential campaign. “This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign,” Danielle Alvarez, a senior adviser, said in a statement shortly after the joke was made.

(AP) — The federal government is handing out $2.4 billion in railroad grants to help pay for 122 projects nationwide with more than half of the money going to smaller railroads. The grants announced Tuesday by the Federal Railroad Administration will go to projects across 41 states and Washington, D.C. Last year, the administration handed out $1.4 billion in these rail grants. But the majority of the money — nearly $1.3 billion — will go to 81 projects at smaller short line railroads across the country. Chuck Baker, president of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association trade group, said the grants will help those smaller railroads significantly.

The visit was part of “Fox & Friends” co-host Lawrence Jones’ ongoing barbershop interview series. Fox edited out many of Trump’s rambling comments and false claims. Ironically, however, Fox edited several of Trump’s recent appearances on the network, including his visit to the barbershop. Fox also cut some of the former president’s insults, as when he mocked the Wall Street Journal, a sister property of Fox. Trump’s recent appearance on the Fox News program “MediaBuzz” was also pretaped and edited.

CNN —Former President Donald Trump said Thursday the US is “like a garbage can for the world” as he railed against illegal immigration at a campaign rally in Arizona. We’re like a garbage can for the world. That’s what’s happened,” Trump said at the event in Tempe, as he criticized the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the border. It’s a very accurate description.”The remark, coming less than two weeks from Election Day, marks the latest escalation in Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric as he’s made border security central to his bid to return to the White House. Harris also pushed back on the idea that she was soft on border security and immigration, saying “people have to earn it” in gaining American citizenship and that she wanted “to strengthen our border.”CNN’s Steve Contorno contributed to this report.
