The Dallas-area influencer who had her spider monkey taken from her Saturday after a drunk driving crash is under investigation after the monkey was determined to be malnourished, officials said Friday. Brandi Botello's spider monkey, named Jorgie Boy, was taken from her following the crash in which Dallas police arrested the driver on a charge of driving while intoxicated. She told the station she was drunk and asleep in the passenger seat while holding Jorgie Boy when the crash happened. Jorgie Boy is the size of a 1-year-old monkey even though he will turn 3 in February. It might take over a year to get Jorgie Boy to a point where he is strong enough to play with other monkeys again, Johns said.

The monkey, named Jorgie Boy, was taken from his owner, Brandi Botello, on Saturday morning after Dallas police officers responded to a single-vehicle accident. Botello told NBC Dallas-Fort Worth that she was charged with DWI but maintained that she was not driving. Botello told the station that the driver was a male acquaintance and that he was charged with public intoxication. Because Botello lives in Irving, a neighboring suburb, the monkey was transferred to Irving's animal control department, Dallas police said. The sanctuary's owner said the monkey would not be returned to its previous owner, the Morning News reported.

CNN —If you saw an enormous, deadly funnel-web spider sitting on her egg sac, your first instinct might be to run away. Funnel-webs, whose most dangerous species lives in and around Sydney, are known for their deadly, fast-acting venom. The zoo is the sole supplier of funnel-web spider antivenom, which it produces by milking the spiders collected. “We want to encourage the spider with her egg sac into the jar in one movement, trying not to make her so angry that she destroys the egg sac,” Teni says in the video. Each egg sac contains about 150-200 spiderlings, making it a valuable source of antivenom.

But multiplex owners are hoping that “Wicked” and “Gladiator II” achieve something close as the pink-and-green musical and the Colosseum-set action epic land in theaters on Nov. 22. “The industry is looking at ‘Wicked,’ ‘Gladiator II’ and ‘Moana 2’ as a Holy Trinity of moviegoing,” says Robbins. Overall domestic box office revenues are down more than 11% from 2023 and nearly 27% from 2019, according to Comscore. Newer attempts like Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” remake, Chu’s “In the Heights,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Cats” and “The Color Purple” all fizzled at the box office despite being based on popular productions. “Gladiator II,” too, must prove to audiences there’s a reason to return to the arena a quarter century after the first film became a Colosseum-sized blockbuster.

Hidden inside a 46-story luxury condominium in Miami is a thirteen story garage where busy robots zoom around whisking cars to and from parking spots. The futuristic 24/7 operation unfolds across a 13-level garage and employs five car lifts, dozens of lasers and hundreds of bar codes embedded in the floors. Residents who pull into one of the building's five drive-up bays don't have to hunt for a spot, instead they hand their vehicles off to robo-valets who park the cars for them. It all goes down inside Brickell House, a condo residence which is home to the largest and tallest automated parking system in the world according to PARKPLUS, the company that built it. And while no humans are allowed in the automated garage, CNBC's Ray Parisi drives a Ferrari 488 Spider into it and rides thru it with his camera crew so you can see the robo-parkers lift, spin and precisely park the six-figure ride.
