CINCINNATI — The San Francisco Giants’ Blake Snell threw his first no-hitter Friday night at Great American Ball Park, striking out 11 Cincinnati Reds in the 3-0 victory.
Snell got Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz to fly out to right-fielder Mike Yastrzemski, a defensive replacement.
Snell threw 114 pitches and walked three.
It was the 18th no-hitter in Giants history, and the 13th time Cincinnati has been no-hit.
Last August, the Reds’ Spencer Steer broke up Alex Cobb’s no-hit bid with two outs in the ninth inning.
