Austin Suman, 35, of Myrtle Beach, has been charged with willfully making a threat involving explosives and interstate stalking, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said. Suman sent death threats Nov. 8 to the reporter via Facebook and email and used a racial slur and derogatory language, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Friday. WASHINGTON — The Department of Justice on Friday charged an Iranian man in a murder-for-hire plot to assassinate then-candidate Donald Trump and two others in a plot to kill an American journalist critical of Tehran. Former FTX executive Nishad Singh was sentenced to time served and three years of supervised release on Wednesday, becoming the fourth ex-employee of the collapsed crypto exchange to be punished. Just before the hearing began, Singh was alone, pacing the elevator bank, as he rehearsed his statement from a single printed page. In March, Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison and ordered to pay $11 billion. Ray said Singh made substantial productions of documents, and he voluntarily returned Bahamian real estate purchased with FTX funds. Ryan Salame, another former top lieutenant of Bankman-Fried, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison in May.

Megan Thee Stallion is suing commentator Milagro Gramz, accusing her of being a “mouthpiece,” “puppet” and “paid surrogate” for rapper Tory Lanez during and after his high-profile criminal trial. In a lawsuit filed in the Southern District of Florida on Wednesday, attorneys for Megan Thee Stallion accuse Milagro Gramz of “churning out falsehoods” about Lanez while the hip-hop superstar was on trial in 2022 and 2023. Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion, real name Megan Pete, in the foot and sentenced to 10 years in prison. She is also seeking damages from Cooper “in an appropriate amount” for the emotional distress and false light counts. The lawsuit alleged that Cooper spread false information that the gun Peterson used to shoot Pete had gone missing as recently as this week.

A federal grand jury in New York is hearing new evidence this week as part of the investigation into Sean "Diddy" Combs. Attorney Ariel Mitchell-Kidd told NBC News on Wednesday that a male client of hers is testifying before a grand jury in the Southern District of New York on Thursday. Over eight years after a Florida woman and her 8-year-old daughter went missing, the FBI has arrested the young girl's father in connection with their disappearance. Gustavo Castaño Restrepo, 55, was indicted for kidnapping resulting in death for the disappearance of his ex, Liliana Moreno, and the pair's daughter, Daniela, according to authorities. According to the FBI, Moreno and her daughter were last seen on May 30, 2016, in or near the Home Depot on Okeechobee Road in Hialeah. Detectives told NBC affiliate NBC6 that the day they went missing, Restrepo went to pick up Moreno and her daughter, and the couple got into an argument. Restrepo told detectives he then dropped the two off on Turnpike Avenue.
