Indian education technology startup Physics Wallah announced on Friday that it had raised $210 million as it looks to expand its business, in part via acquisitions, amid troubles in the sector. The funding, led by Hornbill Capital, and involving Lightspeed Venture Partners, GSV and WestBridge, values the company at $2.8 billion, a significant increase from its last valuation of $1.1 billion. Physics Wallah, founded in 2020, is one of India's many education technology, or ed-tech firms, that offers free and paid-for courses for various competitive examinations in India. Pandey said the company is open to acquisitions provided it gives them access to new content and users. Last year, Physics Wallah brought a 50% stake in Xylem Learning, an ed-tech company headquartered in Kerala in south India.

Netflix has just announced the next leading lady for “Bridgerton”: Korean Australian actor Yerin Ha. Ha, 29, who is known for her work in “Halo” and “Dune: Prophecy,” will star as Sophie Baek, the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) in season 4 of the hit period series. “What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles — something that she constantly has to overcome,” Ha told Tudum. “It wasn’t until I started seeing the monitors and the shots of me and Charithra [Chandran, who played Edwina] on screen and it was two dark-skinned Indian women, two Tamil women on screen,” Ashley told NBC News in 2022. CHENNAI, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Apple supplier Pegatron temporarily halted iPhone assembly at its facility in south India on Monday after a fire on Sunday night, three sources familiar with the matter told Reuters. Pegatron accounts for 10% of Apple's iPhone production in India, according to research firm Counterpoint. Apple has bet big on India since it began iPhone assembly in the country in 2017 via Wistron (3231.TW) and later Foxconn (2317.TW), as the Indian government pushed for local manufacturing. Pegatron, which started iPhone assembly in India in September last year, is also in talks to open a second Indian contract facility for Apple near the existing one in Tamil Nadu. In February, a fire at a south Indian facility of Foxlink for iPhone charging cables forced it to halt production.
