More change is coming to Diamond Sports' regional sports networks. Diamond Sports said in the filing that if it is able to emerge from bankruptcy protection, FanDuel will be a "long-term naming rights partner." The new naming rights agreement would also give FanDuel the right to buy up to 5% of equity in the reorganized company and get performance warrants for up to 5% of equity. A naming rights deal was later signed with gaming company Bally's Corp . Some NBA teams that have left the regional sports networks have turned to local broadcast stations to air local games.

Read previewHarvard researcher Dr. David Sinclair has found himself at the center of controversy within the longevity community. He's also earned his share of critics who say his research isn't always backed up by sufficient evidence. Animal Biosciences reissued a press release walking back the "reverse aging" claim. But scientists in the field say the issue is even more fundamental: There's no way to reverse aging, much less measure it. That means debates about the semantics of aging will only become more relevant to our daily lives.

Nov 27 (Reuters) - BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, will be renamed "Christine Sinclair Place" for one night next week in honour of the captain's final match with the women's international team, Canada Soccer said on Monday. Sinclair, who is the world's all-time leading international goalscorer, announced her retirement from the Canada women's national team in October and her final game will be on Dec. 5 against Australia. "The legacy of Christine's career has and will live on beyond her tremendous accomplishments on the field," Canada Soccer President Charmaine Crooks said in a news release. The 40-year-old Sinclair's international career includes a record 190 goals for Canada, an Olympic gold medal and six World Cup appearances. Sinclair still plans to play for Portland Thorns in the National Women's Soccer League next season and after that expects to remain involved with the game in some capacity.

Oct 26 (Reuters) - Canada's Christine Sinclair never backed down from pressure-packed situations throughout her illustrious career but admitted on Thursday that she was looking forward to a stress-free end to her international career over the coming weeks. "Just trying to soak it all in," Sinclair said in her first official press conference since she announced her retirement last week. The 40-year-old Sinclair's international career includes a record 190 goals for Canada in 327 games, an Olympic gold medal and six World Cup appearances. When Canada's World Cup hopes ended in the group stage after a thrashing by hosts Australia in July Sinclair knew she did not want her international career to end on that note. "I thought that was going to be it, I was going to walk off and not say a word and just be done," said Sinclair.

London CNN —It was a painting in the lobby of a Benin hotel last year that changed the way Afrobeats star Mr Eazi thought about art. The works will also be exhibited in galleries internationally — in Accra, Lagos, London (where they will be displayed as part of a “listening experience” the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair between October 12—15) and in New York. “One of the most exciting things for me is that art represents an opportunity to discover people without a pre-bias… it’s exerting soft power,” said Mr Eazi. “It’s an ecosystem,” Mr Eazi summarises. “African music should be in African film and African art with African music… That’s culture, that’s the flood.

MELBOURNE, Australia, July 31 (Reuters) - Canada's Olympic champions are heading home from the Women's World Cup stunned and heartbroken - and still without a medal in the tournament from eight appearances. Canada are the first Olympic champions to be eliminated in the group stage of the next World Cup. Canada have won medals in their last three Olympics, but their best World Cup finish is fourth in 2003 - Sinclair's debut - in a puzzling lack of results at this tournament. With numerous underdogs performing well at this World Cup, it seems the world is catching up with North America and Europe, who have long dominated the women's game. Monday also marked the final Canadian game for 35-year-old Sophie Schmidt, who announced she would retire after this, her fifth World Cup.

Bank of America has named European insurance giant AXA as one of its top picks in the insurance sector, given its attractively low valuation and generous dividends. The investment bank believes AXA shares are a bargain because it is predicted to earn much more than its stock price suggests. This yield consists of a 6.8% dividend yield plus a 2.4% yield from the company buying back its own shares. AXA's valuation is said to be one of the lowest in its sector, even with the prediction of a steadily increasing dividend yield. Shares of the French multinational have risen by 3.8% so far this year and currently offer a dividend yield of 6.2%.

Disney 's ESPN wants to be the hub for all live sports streaming — even for its competition. Still, ESPN has broached the idea to the major sports leagues and media companies to gauge their enthusiasm, the people said. If a customer already subscribes to a given service, ESPN would collect no money and just provide the link as a courtesy, people familiar with the matter said. ESPN may also alert users to games that air on linear TV, cementing its new role as the TV guide of live sports, the people said. Discovery has alerted leagues it plans to exit the RSN business altogether, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Sinclair bought its regional sports networks, now branded as Bally, from Fox after it sold assets to Disney. Four years later, the 19 networks now carrying the Bally Sports brand name are likely headed for a Chapter 11 reorganization. "We see downside risk increasing as Pay TV subscribers shift away from the linear bundle. Questions are swirling over how Diamond Sports will continue to pay rights fees to the sports leagues during a reorganization process. Symson said local rights are up in some markets and Scripps is ready to engage.

2022 kicked off with some huge transactions, from AT&T's WarnerMedia spin-off to private equity scooping up content players. Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B, and Diamond Sports Group both recently tapped big banks to explore their options. Not surprisingly, WarnerMedia was at the heart of the richest transaction fee waterfall for big banks in 2022. Moelis and LionTree were just tapped to help figure out what's next for Sinclair's Regional Sports Networks, Diamond Sports Group, while Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B, also hired Moelis to shop the production company, according to Variety.
