The timing of the outbreak is especially challenging for McDonald’s as it has been trying to win back customers who’ve been put off by higher prices. Over the summer McDonald’s did an about face to try to win people back. “It had been a pretty strong quarter.”And absent the E. coli outbreak, Tuesday’s earnings call might have been all about the value menu and the Crocs. The length and severity of the outbreak is now a wild card for analysts as they assess McDonald’s financial future.

(CNN) — Striking images from the Sahara Desert show large lakes etched into rolling sand dunes after one of the most arid, barren places in the world was hit with its first floods in decades. Some of the most dramatic images are from the desert town of Merzouga, where the rare deluge carved new lakes into the sand dunes. CNN —Closed to the public for more than a decade, the stunning Zeyrek Çinili Hamam has just reopened its wooden doors to the world. A team of archaeologists and historians at the hamam helped those institutions to identify exactly where their Iznik tiles came from. Ottoman know-how and seamless minimalism come together inside the Çinili Hamam to create the ultimate zone-out space. Analyst Peng Cheng found the electric vehicle maker suffered the highest outflows of all individual stocks from retail investors in the past week. That's part of a bigger trend among individual investors of gradually selling mega-cap technology names, the analyst added. In the past week, retail investors pulled a net $411 million freom Tesla. Fellow mega-cap tech stocks Amazon and Meta Platforms were also among the most sold by individual investors last week. That means it would eclipse even the SPDR S & P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) , which tracks the S & P 500.

The 89-year-old fashion veteran opened the show, called "Vibes", with a champagne satin jacket and satin grey trousers. Satin trousers featured heavily in the Spring/Summer 2024 line, often paired with sheer blouses, light jackets and sparkling tops. For the evening, there were plenty of shimmering looks - sparkling tops, skirts and trousers, the last of which were white.
