Trump ally Allen Weisselberg was released early from Rikers Island on Friday after being convicted of lying under oath during the civil fraud trial of the Trump Organization. Weisselberg, the former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, was sentenced in April to five months behind bars after he pleaded guilty to two counts of perjury. Weisselberg had previously served time at Rikers Island in 2023 for charges related to a tax fraud scheme. He was sentenced to five months in jail but was eligible for release after 100 days with time off for good behavior.

The district attorney’s office has pressured Weisselberg for months about potential charges related to insurance fraud and perjury. The New York attorney general’s office is seeking more than $370 million in disgorgement from Trump as well as a ban from doing business in the state.
