Georgia is favored over Alabama for the fourth straight time Saturday, but another loss would be three losses in those four games. A loss would turn the conversation from “Kirby Smart had a Nick Saban problem” to “Georgia has an Alabama problem.”Alabama beat Georgia in the SEC Championship Game and earned a spot in the College Football Playoff. It certainly was in last year’s SEC Championship Game and likely will be again this weekend. But an Alabama win would elevate his status early in his tenure, so in that regard, there’s a lot to gain. Win or lose, both Georgia and Alabama will come away with things they need to work on.

CNN —After nearly 10 years of playing the same lottery number combination, a $50,000 payday has finally arrived for a man in Maryland, lottery officials said. “I play the same numbers all the time, I’ve been doing so for years,” the man told officials from the Maryland Lottery’s headquarters in Baltimore. He learned in disbelief the following day that he’d won the top prize using his special set of five digits, the Maryland Lottery reported. The Geneva-based International Organization for Standardization (ISO) approved the new merchant category code (MCC) in September to help detect suspicious firearms and ammunition sales to combat gun violence. A Mastercard representative said on Thursday via email that such bills would cause "inconsistency" in how the code could be applied by merchants, banks and payment networks. "It's for that reason that we have decided to pause work on the implementation of the firearms-specific MCC," said the Mastercard representative, Seth Eisen. Accordingly, Visa is pausing implementation of the MCC," Visa said in a statement sent by a spokesperson. The moves mark a setback for gun-control activists, though the payment networks stopped short of saying they would reject the code outright.
