Last year many streaming services began shrinking their once-robust content libraries in order to pay smaller licensing fees. In the face of profit pressures and growing competition for viewers, streamers have taken to removing content to avoid the residual payments and licensing fees. On one side is Netflix , Amazon and Apple — companies that agnostically license content from other studios to bolster their streaming libraries. Disney-owned Hulu, meanwhile, has seen success with "feel good" 30-minute sitcoms and prestige dramas, Fandom's data shows. A Rivian owner said repairs cost $42,000 for his R1T after a fender bender, according to The New York Times. But, after the electric car was taken to a repair shop that was certified to work with Rivian products the cost jumped to $42,000, the publication said. The repair cost over half the starting price of the vehicle. Last year, a study from CCC Intelligent Solutions found that on average EV repairs cost more than repairs for gas-powered cars. Another report from Mitchell that was cited by the Times found that last year EV repairs cost about $2,400 more than fixes for traditional combustion-engine vehicles.

Hong Kong spent more than HK$600 billion ($76.44 billion) on various pandemic relief programs for the past three years, forcing it to run rare budget deficits. Hong Kong's Department of Justice also recently sought to block a pro-democracy song, "Glory to Hong Kong" from being disseminated online and cited 32 instances where it appeared on Google -owned YouTube. Other companies have also taken steps to filter content that reaches Hong Kong. Disney has chosen not to bring two episodes of "The Simpsons" that include references to critiques of the Chinese government to its streaming service in Hong Kong, the Journal reported. Hong Kong users have reported that Tencent's tool temporarily blocked access to legitimate Western sites like Twitter competitor Mastodon, cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and coding website GitLab.
