Seoul, South Korea CNN —North Korean leader Kim Jong Un threatened to use nuclear weapons to destroy South Korea if attacked, state media reported Friday, after South Korea’s president warned that if the North used nuclear weapons it would “face the end of its regime.”The fiery rhetoric isn’t new, but comes at a time of tension on the Korean Peninsula and just weeks after North Korean state media released images of Kim visiting a uranium enrichment facility, which produces weapons-grade nuclear materials. “If such situation comes, the permanent existence of Seoul and the Republic of Korea would be impossible,” Kim added, using the proper name for South Korea. North Korea could revoke a key agreement which enshrines the potential for reunification of the Koreas as soon as Monday, when its legislature is expected to meet, Seoul’s Unification Ministry told CNN. Last month, North Korean state media released photos of Kim purportedly touring a nuclear facility in a rare glimpse of the nation’s closely guarded weapons program. Naver said its AI product, named HyperCLOVA X, will provide generative AI-driven searches for users as well as new customised services for enterprise clients. Naver has said it is jointly developing with Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) new chip solutions that will be smaller and more efficient to support its AI technology development. The company plans to open a new data centre for the HyperCLOVA X services in November, Naver said on Thursday. "We are ready to face a new transformation called generative AI," Naver Chief Executive Choi Soo-yeon said. Choi said the company was in talks with global partners about its new AI services' overseas expansion but it was not ready to identify those partners.

SEOUL, Aug 3 (Reuters) - Nine people have been stabbed and four others hurt by a car driven by the suspected attacker on Thursday in the South Korean commuter town of Seongnam near the capital Seoul, police said. One person has been arrested, police said in a statement. The attack occurred near Seohyeon station, an area about 20 km (12.43 miles) from Seoul that has a large department store and other shops and where many commuters live. The incident comes just days after another rare stabbing attack in Seoul in which one person was killed and three others wounded.
