The company is seeking to sell 60 million shares at a price range of $20 to $23 per share. StandardAero previously filed to offer 46.5 million shares at the same $20 to $23 per share range. StandardAero will be a large IPO, likely raising about $1.3 billion at the midpoint. The IPO raise has been sub-par for three years running. The remainder of the reunion tour by the original lineup of Jane’s Addiction, the group’s first in 14 years, has been canceled. At that point, Farrell was seen throwing a punch at Navarro, though it wasn’t clear from the footage whether it really landed. While Dave was keeping Perry at arm’s length to de-escalate the situation, Dan rushed over to de-escalate as well by holding Perry back. Farrell sang well, Perkins crushed it behind the kit, Navarro shredded and Avery anchored the band with his steady work on bass. … However, when it came to singing the songs, Farrell nailed most of them.”The tour by Jane’s Addiction was a co-headlining one shared with another veteran ’80s/’90s band, Love & Rockets.

There are a combination of factors that are dragging down some artists' ticket sales. Just having the big song doesn't necessarily always translate into ticket sales. But there are no guarantees that any of that will translate to hard ticket sales. "Just having the big song doesn't necessarily always translate into ticket sales." Hiccups are not all about ticket sales, either.

“It is time to break it up.”It is difficult to overstate just how thoroughly Live Nation, which acquired Ticketmaster more than a decade ago, controls live entertainment in America. Through Ticketmaster, Live Nation controls 80% of venues’ primary ticketing for concerts. There’s a fine line between vertical integration and all-out monopoly, and Live Nation is, at minimum, very clearly toeing it. Artists, fans and venues have been complaining about Live Nation and Ticketmaster pretty much since they agreed to merge in 2009. Live Nation, Wolfson said, is likely to come out swinging.

Two months ago, I wrote a story entitled, "The IPO market is looking very shaky and facing challenges galore." Two months later, the IPO market is still shaky, but there are definite signs of improvement. Second, three $100 million IPOs have filed to go public in the past week, including Viking (the cruise line operator) and Rubrik, a data management platform. Greg Martin at Rainmaker Securities told me that the recent performance of Reddit and Astera Labs, "Were nice shots in the arm for the IPO market. The IPO market is looking very shaky and confronted with a host of challenges that are holding it back. Regardless, recent IPO performances have been poor across the board. IPO investors cheered the advance by bidding up the Renaissance Capital IPO ETF (IPO), a basket of recent IPOs, in December, assuming the IPO market would open up. CNBC's Jim Cramer, speaking early Thursday on Squawk on the Street , highlighted another obstacle for IPO buyers: investors are getting comfortable returns elsewhere with far lower risk. When David Faber asked why the IPO market was off to such a slow start with the markets so strong, Cramer replied, "I think it's the five percent solution," he said, referring to the ocean of money still sitting in money market funds.

More artists got back on the road in 2022, yet still hit pandemic-related snags. Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Drake, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran, Morgan Wallen, Maluma and Madonna filled arenas and stadiums. Buying concert tickets, however, has become an increasingly complex and expensive endeavor as costs continue to rise and companies like Ticketmaster and SeatGeek battle bots and scalpers. Fans hoping to attend the year’s hottest tours endured a maze of presale registrations, digital waiting rooms and hourslong queues. Those fortunate enough to reach checkout were met with lofty ticket prices — some because of confusing “dynamic pricing” — and additional fees.

I bought SZA concert tickets with a rainy day cash fund. On the back in gold gel-pen letters, I'd written "Rainy Day Cash." Inside was a small amount of cash I'd received for my birthday a couple of months ago.
