Airbus (AIR.PA) is considering joining the consortium to use the fuel, HH2E said. Scholz also said Germany was targeting investment for a potential new plane to replace the Airbus single-aisle A320. "We would like to see further investment in aviation - not just in Hamburg, but throughout Germany, as part of the successor to the Airbus A320," he said. In July, Airbus expanded production of the same series in Toulouse, France, to meet rising demand.

REUTERS/Jan LopatkaPRAGUE, June 30 (Reuters) - Cyanide maker Draslovka is considering an equity fundraising worth hundreds of millions of dollars support the roll out of new technology that could help miners slash use of cyanide, its CEO said in an interview on Friday. The privately-held Czech company is the world's leading sodium cyanide maker. It acquired Australian Mining & Process Solutions last year, which developed innovative glycine leaching technology that can cut cyanide usage in mining by about half, depending on the circumstances. Draslovka hopes the technology will spearhead a transformation of the industry, raising its effectiveness and reducing environmental impacts. Bruzek said Draslovka had another 10 similar potential projects lined up by year-end, including a top nickel and cobalt miner.

Oct 18 (Reuters) - South African petrochemicals company Sasol (SOLJ.J) on Tuesday said it was partnering steelmaker ArcelorMittal South Africa (ACLJ.J) to explore carbon capture technology and steel production using green hydrogen. ArcelorMittal South Africa is Africa's biggest steel producer, with a significant carbon footprint. In a statement, Sasol said the two firms would jointly advance a green hydrogen and derivatives study on the Saldanha region's potential as an export hub for green hydrogen and derivatives, as well as green steel production. They will study the use of renewable electricity and green hydrogen to convert captured carbon from ArcelorMittal's Vanderbijlpark steel plant into sustainable fuels and chemicals, it said. "These studies are anchored by the local need for green hydrogen and sustainable products, cementing Sasol as the leading contributor to the development of southern Africa's green hydrogen economy," said Priscillah Mabelane, Executive Vice President for Energy.
