An Iraqi judoka has recorded the first positive doping test of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the International Testing Agency (ITA) said on Friday.
A statement from the ITA said that Sajjad Sehen tested positive for the banned anabolic steroids metandienone and boldenone during out-of-competition anti-doping control in Paris on July 23.

Sehen has the right to request the analysis of his B sample but won’t now be eligible to take up his place in the competition.
“The athlete has been informed of the case and has been provisionally suspended until the resolution of the matter in line with the World Anti-Doping Code and the IOC Anti-Doping Rules applicable to the Olympic Games Paris 2024,” an ITA statement read.
