Much of the growth, from a forecast 21% market share this year, is expected to come outside of China. The rapid expansion of Chinese automakers is a growing concern for legacy automakers and politicians globally. In North America, Chinese automakers are forecast to only achieve a 3% market share, largely in Mexico, where one in five vehicles are expected to be Chinese brands by 2030. In most other major regions of the world, AlixPartners reports that the share of Chinese automakers is expected to exponentially grow. Chinese brands in China also are expected to grow from 59% to 72% in market share, according to AlixPartners.

A recent paper published by the American Enterprise Institute revealed that the net prices for the new obesity drugs are just a fraction of the published annual list prices. And while the drugs’ prices remain out of reach for many, economists anticipate they will soon be driven down. More than a dozen companies are developing obesity drugs. As they enter the market, greater choice is expected to make prices plummet, as has happened with other expensive drugs. Those revenues are based on the net prices.

Members of the National Council pose for a group picture on the last day of the legislature before national elections in October at the Swiss Parliament Building (Bundeshaus) in Bern, Switzerland on Sept. 29, 2023. Exit polls conducted for Switzerland's public broadcaster showed the country's right-wing populist party was set to further strengthen its position as the largest faction in parliament in a legislative election Sunday that saw the leading Green party lose ground. The Socialists edged up nearly a 0.5 percentage point, while the Greens lost more than 4 percentage points to fall under 10%, according to the exit poll. It appeared set to eclipse the free-market Liberal party in voter support, according to the exit poll conducted by the gfs.bern agency. The parliamentary vote is one of two main ways that Switzerland's 8.5 million people guide their country.

The glitch, which occurred on Tuesday, impacted stocks of major companies including 3M (MMM.N), Wells Fargo & Co (WFC.N) and Verizon Communications Inc (VZ.N). The NYSE, owned by Intercontinental Exchange Inc (ICE.N), said it began trading in 2,824 securities without an opening auction, which led to erroneous prices, with nearly 4,341 trades in 251 securities "busted", or nullified. The exchange also said it had erroneously triggered a sell short restriction (SSR) on about 80 securities on Tuesday. That could potentially lead to volatile trading on Wednesday but it was "nothing investors have to worry about", Stovall added.
