Senate Majority PAC, the main Democratic outside group involved in Senate races, is already stockpiling campaign cash ahead of a brutal fight to hold onto the Senate, according to new fundraising numbers shared first with NBC News. The super PAC raised $37 million during the first six months of the year, ending June with $24.6 million in its campaign account. “After defying history and expanding Democrats’ Senate majority in 2022, Senate Majority PAC’s strong fundraising sets us once more on the path to success,” SMP president JB Poersch said in a statement. The Democratic super PAC's haul also surpasses the group's fundraising at the same point of last year's midterm election, when it raised $25.6 million. Super PAC fundraising typically accelerates rapidly as elections draw near.

LONDON, May 4 (Reuters) - Former Formula One champion Jenson Button wants to drive a Hypercar at Le Mans next year and says he would be up for a full season of the world endurance championship if the right opportunity comes along. The Briton will be taking part in the 24 Hours race at the Sarthe circuit on June 10-11 this year as part of a special NASCAR entry with seven times NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and former Le Mans winner Mike Rockenfeller. Johnson, 47, has never been to Le Mans while Button, 43, endured a short-lived debut in 2018 with the Russian-backed SMP team. The World Endurance Championship (WEC) has seven rounds, including Le Mans, while the North American IMSA series has 11 but is nearer to home. "I’m running out of items, especially in a major professional setting," said the Californian, who was never able to race Le Mans previously due to calendar clashes with NASCAR and IndyCars.
NEW DELHI/MUMBAI, April 5 (Reuters) - India's stockpiles of dairy products have recovered in the past two months, though some products could qualify for duty free imports during peak demand season, a senior government official said on Wednesday. "There is adequate inventory of skimmed milk powder (SMP)," said Rajesh Kumar Singh, secretary at the department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying. SMP stocks reached 109,000 tonnes in February, up by nearly 27,000 tonnes from December, ministry data shows. "But in the case of dairy products, especially fats, butter and ghee, etc, the stocks are lower than the previous year," Singh said. Butter and ghee stocks have fell to 36,000 tonnes in February, down from 75,000 tonnes a year earlier.
"Any upside risk coming from higher milk prices is going to pose an additional challenge," said Upasna Bhardwaj, chief economist at India's Kotak Mahindra Bank. "Cattle prices have doubled as there are fewer cows in the market," said Sharma, who has been raising cattle since childhood. "We will witness further rises in milk prices during summer," Shah said. India's SMP imports are likely to hit an all-time high in the fiscal year that started April, surpassing record purchases in 2011-12, dairy industry officials said. The temporary removal of those duties would mean imports rise even further, the NDDB official said.
News of the FTX's fall first prompted questions to lawmakers about Bankman-Fried's political donations. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana and John Boozman of Arkansas said they would donate Bankman-Fried’s campaign contributions, though they did not specify the charities they intended to donate the money to. Bankman-Fried also poured millions into super PACs that support candidates outside of their campaigns, including the Senate Majority PAC, or SMP, a super PAC supporting Democratic Senate candidates. The disclosed sums likely don't capture the full breadth of Bankman-Fried's political spending. "The candidates who received money from dark money organizations don't really have to answer for it," Sherman said.
