Qilai Shen | Bloomberg | Getty ImagesChinese investors are looking for more policy direction from China's top economic planning body on Tuesday, when mainland markets return from a week-long holiday. Before the week-long holiday, authorities unveiled a flurry of stimulus policies, including interest rate cuts, lower cash reserve requirements at banks, looser property purchase rules and liquidity support for stock markets. Chinese major indexes have surged over 25% as investors cheer on the barrage of stimulus measures. Last week, China's CSI 300 blue-chip index extended a nine-day winning streak, surging over 8% Monday, before the market closed for a week-long holiday. Now the government needs to add fiscal stimulus to maintain the rally's momentum, said Shaun Rein, founder and managing director of China Market Research Group.

Teng faces an especially tough task in transforming the culture of Binance, four of the people said. Still, leading a cultural shift at Binance - a firm shaped by Zhao in his own image - would be "hugely difficult," she said. For years it dominated the crypto market, but this year has rapidly lost market share. Last month it controlled 32% of crypto spot and 50% of derivatives trading, according to crypto firm CCData, down from 55% and 62% respectively in January.

A stacker unloads iron ore onto a pile at a mine located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia December 2, 2013. China iron ore imports vs SGX priceIMPORTS SLIPThere are also signs that China's iron ore imports may soften in October, although that is most likely related to the week-long holidays at the start of the month. The last official reading on iron ore imports was August's customs figure of 106.42 million metric tons, which was the highest monthly total since October 2020. A further possible concern for iron ore imports is what policy China will adopt regarding steel production for the coming winter period. One possible bullish factor for iron ore is the continuing retreat of China's port inventories, which suggests scope to import more to boost stockpiles.

Structured certificates are financial instruments issued by a third party, that are based on underlying assets — their returns depend on the performance of the asset, which can be a single stock or an equity index. Singapore began offering listed structured certificates on Aug. 30, with its inaugural issue being one linked to Hong Kong-listed shares of Chinese tech giant Alibaba Group Holding . "So tech names, Hong Kong names, U.S. names, Japanese names. SGX's move to broaden its equity-linked product base "could drive incremental market interest," including offering depository receipts and structured certificates, Wickramasinghe told CNBC. Structured certificates are more more popular in Europe, as investors there are "broadly speaking, very yield focused," Syn told CNBC.

REUTERS/Edgar Su/File PhotoSINGAPORE, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Singapore Exchange Ltd (SGX) (SGXL.SI) is amending its initial public offering (IPO) rules to clarify that life science companies seeking to list on its mainboard exchange do not need to be revenue-generating. The revision was based on a publication of a Listings Advisory Committee's decision on SGX's life sciences listing framework on Thursday. SGX introduced the life science listing framework in 2009, where it waived certain IPO requirements including profitability and revenue for life science companies. The rules under the life science listing framework were not adjusted to reflect 2012 amendments made to the mainboard listing criteria.

Listed and unlisted companies can list their shares in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) housed in the Gujarat International Financial Tech City (GIFT), which is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship project. "I'm pleased to announce that the government has taken a decision to enable direct listing of listed and unlisted companies on the IFSC exchanges," Sitharaman said. Indian companies can currently only list on foreign exchanges through instruments such as depository receipts. The government had announced plans in 2020 to allow firms to have their primary listings on foreign exchanges. The government has said companies can use the IFSC route to access similar benefits of foreign capital.

MUMBAI, June 21 (Reuters) - The Indian rupee is likely to open slightly higher to the U.S. dollar on Wednesday, shrugging off a decline in other Asian currencies. Non-deliverable forwards (NDF) indicate the rupee will open at 82.06-82.08, up slightly from 82.1175 in the previous session. The USD/INR NDF has not reacted to another round of losses for the Chinese yuan and the move higher on USD/Asia overall, a forex trader at a private bank said. The offshore Chinese yuan dropped below 7.20 to the dollar, the lowest since November 2022. The offshore Chinese yuan has lost 1% this month to add to the 3% decline in May.

Meanwhile, the dollar index hit a five-week low on Thursday and saw its worst one-day session since March 13 after a hawkish European Central Bank (ECB) signalled more rate hikes. The hope can be seen in the domestic iron ore price, with contracts on the Dalian Commodity Exchange outperforming Singapore futures. There are also some fundamental supports for the iron ore price, most noticeably declining inventories at China's ports. In the same week last year, inventories were at 128.3 million metric tonnes, or 1.6% above the current level. China iron ore imports vs SGX price:SOFT ECONOMIC DATACountering the positive indicators for iron ore demand is a raft of underwhelming economic data that shows China's rebound after ending its strict zero-COVID policy in December has been uneven. The weak data may actually boost iron ore sentiment, as investors will expect further stimulus measures from Beijing.

BENGALURU, June 14 (Reuters) - The Indian rupee is expected to open higher on Wednesday after U.S. inflation data reaffirmed views that the Federal Reserve will likely keep interest rates unchanged in June. Non-deliverable forwards indicate the rupee will open at around 82.22-82.24 to the U.S. dollar, compared with 82.3675 in the previous session. Data earlier this month offered a mixed picture of the U.S. labor market, while some Fed officials have called for a pause. Post the CPI data, the odds of a Fed rate hike in June have fallen to 8% from 25% on Tuesday. "We think it will be a hawkish pause as the Fed emphasizes that the hiking cycle might not be done.

MUMBAI, June 13 (Reuters) - The Indian rupee is expected to open slightly higher on Tuesday ahead of key U.S. inflation data, which analysts reckon may prove instrumental in the Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates. Non-deliverable forwards indicate rupee will open at around 82.40 to the U.S. dollar compared with 82.43 in the previous session. India's inflation was positive for the rupee "on the margins" and "now let's see how U.S. data plays out", the trader added. The U.S. inflation data is due later in the day, with economists polled by Reuters projecting a 0.4% on-month increase in the core inflation rate. The dollar index was barely changed at near 103.50 while the 2-year U.S. yield dropped to 4.55%.

MUMBAI, June 9 (Reuters) - The Indian rupee is poised to open higher on Friday, tracking losses on the dollar after a jump in U.S. jobless claims made it more likely that the Federal Reserve will refrain from raising rates next week. Non-deliverable forwards indicate the rupee will open at around 82.44-82.46 to the U.S. dollar compared with 82.5625 in the previous session. "The data further support market expectation for a pause by the U.S. Fed at its next meeting," OCBC Treasury Research said in a note. The odds of a Fed rate hike at the June 13-14 meeting is now at 1-in-4. 7** NSDL data shows foreign investors bought a net $18.1mln worth of Indian bonds on Jun.

MUMBAI, June 2 (Reuters) - The Indian rupee is expected to open higher on Friday after the dollar index saw its worst session in almost a month on upbeat risk and wagers that the U.S. Federal Reserve will not raise rates at the June meeting. Non-deliverable forwards indicate rupee will open at around 82.30-82.32 to the U.S. dollar compared with 82.4050 in the previous session. The rupee on Thursday had its best day in almost two months, led by a surprisingly strong domestic GDP reading. The dollar index on Thursday dropped 0.6% to near 103.50, the worst session since May 3. "A strong jobs reading.. could easily swing things back in favour of a hike," ING Bank said in a note.

MUMBAI, May 31 (Reuters) - The bias on the Indian rupee is seen on the downside in Wednesday's trading session after the Chinese yuan dropped to a fresh six-month low to the U.S. dollar. Non-deliverable forwards indicate the rupee will open slightly weaker than 82.71 in the previous session. "Looking at the yuan, you would have to say a move higher (on USD/INR) is more likely," a spot trader said. Data showed that China's factory activity contracted faster than expected in May on weakening demand, pushing Asian shares and U.S. equity futures lower. 29** NSDL data shows foreign investors sold a net $43.7mln worth of Indian bonds on May.
