Photo: Eve HartleyBUENOS AIRES— Sergio Massa , the ruling party’s candidate for president, came out on top in the first round of a presidential election Sunday, beating out a libertarian economist, Javier Milei , who had promised to lay waste to Argentina’s political establishment.
With 92% of the votes counted, Massa took 36.3% of the votes, defying polls that had predicted Milei would be the victor.
