Python and SQL are among the most popular languages; C++ and Tableau are more specialized. Big Tech firms like Apple and Amazon have signaled a move away from the complicated coding language C++, but there's still a place for engineers who know the coding language on Wall Street. As it turns out, not all programming languages are made equal and some are more relevant to certain corners of Wall Street than others. Here are the programming languages to know:

Trump’s plans for his first day in officePresident-elect Donald Trump plans to waste little time when he begins his second term in office. But much of Trump’s Day One goals will likely focus on stopping illegal immigration, the centerpiece of his candidacy. Chrome, which Google launched in 2008, provides the search giant with data it then uses for targeting ads. Additionally, the DOJ said that Google should be prevented from entering into exclusionary agreements with third parties like Apple and Samsung. Over three years after the accidental on-set death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, Alec Baldwin's Western film “Rust” received a polite response during its controversial premiere Wednesday at the EnergaCamerimage festival in Toruń, Poland. The audience clapped through the film’s closing credits, strengthening their applause when a dedication to Hutchins appeared. The premiere opened with Camerimage director Marek Żydowicz asking the audience to stand for a moment of silence for Hutchins. Cinematographer Rachel Mason, Hutchins’ friend who made a documentary about the completion of the film, then made an emotional speech. Additionally, AFI launched the Halyna Hutchins Memorial Scholarship Fund.

But even with Trump’s gains among men, women still had greater leverage to decide the election’s outcome. Both the exit polls and VoteCast showed her winning 57% of white women with at least a four-year college degree. Solid majorities of Black, Latina and college-educated White women described Trump in the exit poll as “too extreme,” as did over two-fifths of the White women without a college degree. But among the White women without a college degree who described Trump as “too extreme,” almost 1 in 5 voted for him anyway. Though many women are expressing unease about mass deportation, Trump’s claim that immigrants are driving crime may provide him considerable leeway to pursue his agenda, particularly among the blue-collar White women who proved most receptive to that argument.

Mahomes vs. Allen, Round 8The NFL schedulers probably should have made this the Sunday night contest. The Bears rank seventh against the pass, have allowed only 18.6 points per game (seventh-best) and have 16 takeaways (also seventh). Foes do find it hard to run on Baltimore, which gives up an NFL-low 73.0 rushing yards per game. They are holding opponents to a league-best 13.1 points per game, and haven’t allowed more than 20 points in any game this season. So this matchup will be a good measuring stick for the Chargers’ defense, while proving whether Herbert and company can win in a shootout if necessary.

Rome CNN —Rome’s baroque Trevi Fountain opened Saturday morning with selfie-takers lining a newly installed metal walkway, as workers start the painstaking process of carefully cleaning the 18th-century masterpiece. But a warning to those visiting the attraction because tossing a coin into the fountain, a long-standing tradition, is now banned. The $330,000 cleaning and restoration project will last until December, Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri told CNN in an interview Saturday morning. He said that will also make the experience better for tourists, many of whom seem happy to pay the price. The mayor has promised that the Trevi Fountain will be ready in just five weeks this time.

The reality is that both parties learn lessons from losing elections that apply only in the short term — say, from one presidential election to the next midterm or from one midterm to the next presidential election. Not anymore — it’s why Democrats usually overperform in special elections, with more devoted “every election” voters right now. Meanwhile, in the non-battlegrounds, which were more affected by the basic “mood music” of the election, Democrats were shellacked. The seeds of discontent with this version of the Democratic Party can be traced back a decade to Obama’s decision to anoint Hillary Clinton as his successor. Former President Donald Trump has won the critical swing state of Michigan, NBC News projects, netting the Republican 15 Electoral College votes over Vice President Kamala Harris. Michigan has been one of the nation’s most hotly contested battlegrounds since it helped Trump pull off a surprise victory in 2016. No Democrat has won the White House without Michigan since Jimmy Carter in 1976. Hillary Clinton in 2016 became the first Democratic presidential nominee to lose Michigan in decades, when Trump edged her out by just 10,704 votes. Trump’s victory this year will likely ensure that the state remains a key battleground going forward.

Former President Donald Trump has won Pennsylvania, NBC News projects, securing 19 Electoral College votes in the most hotly contested battleground state of the race. Trump was the only other Republican nominee to carry the state when he won it in 2016. Carrying Pennsylvania puts Trump one step closer toward reclaiming the White House four years after he lost the state to Joe Biden. NBC News exit polling showed Trump winning 57% of Latinos in the state after exit polls in 2020 showed him winning just 27% of Pennsylvania's Latino vote. Meanwhile, officials on both sides of the aisle, particularly in Pennsylvania, felt Harris would secure her win in Pennsylvania by tapping Josh Shapiro, the state’s popular governor, as her running mate.

Director Jacques Audiard’s genre-defying musical, “Emilia Pérez” — a stylized imagining of how a life of crime could be at least temporarily transformed by becoming one’s true self — may be the most ambitious yet. Zoe Saldaña, right, as Rita Moro Castro and Karla Sofía Gascón as Emilia Pérez in "Emilia Pérez." A new regulatory rule finalized this month by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau aims to reduce that hassle and make it easier, more secure and always free for customers to switch accounts or to simply transfer or share their financial data from their banks, credit card issuers and other financial service providers upon request. “The problem the CFPB (rule) is addressing is the paperwork required of consumers to change accounts. Financial providers must make this information available without charging fees.”The rule will also restrict how third parties may use and retain the data consumers request be shared. The “blue wall” states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania have paved the path to the White House for the last two Democratic presidents. Recent discussions have centered on the possibility of an anomaly happening this year with just part of the blue wall breaking its way. “We absolutely are competing to win Michigan,” Harris campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said, noting Harris’ presence there this week. The blue wall states have been pivotal to elect presidents in the last several elections. “Those three, the blue wall states, almost always stay together, but this year it’s an extraordinarily tight race.

But while White women with a college degree have trended toward the Democrats in the presidential campaigns since then, the White women without a college degree have moved sharply in the opposite direction. She acknowledges that Trump’s alarms have resonated among working-class White women, especially older ones. Not only college-educated White women, but also the equivalent White men were much more likely than the blue-collar White women to express positive views about Harris and negative ones about Trump, Gallup found. “I think there is a lot of implicit [gender] bias with” these working-class White women, Lake said.

The education gap grows“The biggest single, best predictor of how someone’s going to vote in American politics now is education level. The real swing votersTo the extent that traditional swing voters are persuadable in this election, Sosnik argued they might be people like political independents or Nikki Haley Republicans. But there’s a second group of swing voters Sosnik argued is even more important. For Trump, these are non-college-educated White voters in general, particularly men, who “if they vote, you know they’re going to vote for Trump,” he said. Young voters, who are less reliable to cast ballots, also fall into this second type of swing voters, Sosnik said.

"As long as the big three PBMs go unchecked, more pharmacy deserts will appear," Rochol said. Between 2023 and 2024, independent pharmacies in the CVS Caremark pharmacy network were reimbursed 67.5% higher on average than CVS Pharmacy locations, and 51.9% higher than other chain pharmacies in the state. The CVS spokesman also said that CVS pharmacies are not all serviced by Caremark, working with over 70 different PBMs. "There are unfortunately many factors for pharmacy closures in rural areas, including population declines and the growing use of online pharmacies." But Banas believes the pharmacy deserts will only grow, and lead to an increase the number of apps and digitization.

Hutchins, 42, was killed by a live round of ammunition fired from a prop gun held by actor and producer Alec Baldwin. As part of the settlement agreement, Hutchins’ husband, Matthew Hutchins, was set to be an executive producer on “Rust” when it resumed filming. “Halyna’s story will serve as a starting point for a conversation about the role of women in cinematography and their contributions to the art of filmmaking,” festival organizers said of the premiere event.
