They are also trying to take possession, at the court’s direction, of Giuliani’s 26 luxury watches and a 1980 Mercedes-Benz he kept in Florida. The expensive furniture Giuliani had used in real estate photos of the property earlier this year was moved out four weeks ago, he said. Josh Ritchie/Bloomberg/Getty Images“We note that broadcasts, such as those described above, currently provide Mr. Giuliani’s only source of earned income,” Giuliani’s attorney, Kenneth Caruso, told the court. Moss and Freeman’s team have already complained to the judge about Giuliani using the car on Tuesday, submitting to the court the photos. Separately, Giuliani’s lawyers say the property that was in the Manhattan apartment is now in a storage facility on Long Island, but Freeman and Moss’ team say they are struggling to get access to the items there, too.

A New York bankruptcy judge on Friday approved a deal that would dismiss Rudy Giuliani’s attempt to secure bankruptcy protections, putting two former election workers he repeatedly defamed after the 2020 race closer to collecting on their $146 million verdict against him. Lane’s order gives Giuliani one business day after the ruling to pay the $100,000, at which point the case will be officially dismissed. Lane said in July he would dismiss the bankruptcy case, citing Giuliani's failure to turn over virtually any necessary information about his businesses, while submitting incomplete or incorrect information about his personal spending. A spokesman for Giuliani said at the time that Giuliani wanted the case done with because it was preventing him from appealing the Freeman verdict and subjecting him to "voluminous and overly broad discovery requests." The spokesman, Ted Goodman, did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday night, nor did attorneys for Freeman and Moss.

CNN —Rudy Giuliani’s trip to Milwaukee for last week’s Republican National Convention was bankrolled by the media platform started by “My Pillow Guy” Mike Lindell, Giuliani’s lawyer told a bankruptcy court that is scrutinizing the former New York City mayor’s finances. Lindell told CNN on Tuesday that Giuliani is an employee of the media company, but declined to say how much he was being paid for the job, which he said started July 1. Judge Sean Lane of the federal bankruptcy court in White Plains, New York, is expected to issue a ruling any day on how to move forward. Lindell told CNN on Tuesday that he paid for Giuliani’s travel because the former New York mayor was hired on July 1 as a host for Lindell’s right-wing broadcast platform, FrankSpeech TV. Giuliani said he had “no regrets at all” about how he treated Moss and Freeman during the 2020 election.

CNN —Rudy Giuliani was processed in Phoenix on Monday, weeks after pleading not guilty in Arizona to charges of allegedly conspiring to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. Giuliani was served on May 17 in Palm Beach, Florida, at his 80th birthday bash held by a GOP operative. Arizona prosecutors spent weeks trying to track down the former New York City mayor and eventually found him based on his podcasts. A grand jury in Arizona handed up indictments last month charging over a dozen Trump allies, including the fake electors and several individuals connected to his campaign, over their efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss. Goodman added that Giuliani “will be fully vindicated.”The Arizona indictment is just the latest legal woe for Giuliani stemming from his time as Trump’s attorney after the 2020 presidential election.

WASHINGTON (AP) — An FBI informant has been charged with lying to authorities about a multimillion-dollar bribery scheme involving President Joe Biden, his son Hunter and a Ukrainian energy company, a claim that is central to the Republican impeachment inquiry in Congress. Alexander Smirnov falsely reported in June 2020 that executives associated with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma paid Hunter and Joe Biden $5 million each in 2015 or 2016, prosecutors said Thursday. Smirnov said a Burisma executive had claimed to have hired Hunter Biden to “protect us, through his dad, from all kinds of problems,” prosecutors said. The charges were filed by Justice Department special counsel David Weiss, who has separately charged Hunter Biden with firearm and tax violations. Hunter Biden is expected to appear before the committee later this month for an interview.

Atlanta CNN —Former President Donald Trump’s attorneys in the Georgia election subversion case are set to defend their client in a Fulton County courtroom for the first time on Friday as they try to have the charges thrown out on First Amendment grounds. This is the first time Trump’s attorneys will appear in court in the Fulton County case, though their client won’t be with them. Trump hasn’t yet been in the Atlanta courthouse – he previously waived his right to an arraignment hearing – though he was processed at the Fulton County jail in late August. She used a similar legal strategy in a 2014 RICO case in Fulton County, according to a source familiar with the matter. Despite his mounting legal debt and the fact that he is almost 80, sources close to Giuliani said he intends to fight the Georgia case.

To the Editor:Re “Rudy Giuliani Was Always Like This,” by Jamelle Bouie (column, Aug. 20):History teaches us many things, but the tragic downfall of “America’s mayor” reminds us that clever P.R., along with sudden media infatuation, should always be viewed with skepticism. I stood with Mayor David Dinkins when he faced what could only be characterized as a racist police riot, which Mr. Bouie recalls in his column. New York is a very different place than it was in 1992, and the N.Y.P.D. is, thankfully, a very different police department. But the fact that Mr. Giuliani never apologized for his fiery speech at that police protest, where other attendees shouted extremely vitriolic and racially insulting taunts at Mayor Dinkins, should not have been forgotten after Sept. 11, when so many embraced Mr. Giuliani as “America’s mayor.” No, Mr. Giuliani was never really “America’s mayor.”I wish more could remember David Dinkins as the epitome of dignity in very difficult times, and ensure his place in history as a trailblazer who made us proud of his leadership.

Rudy Giuliani’s troubles with the District of Columbia Bar stem from his efforts on behalf of lawsuit in Pennsylvania seeking to overturn the 2020 presidential election in that state. WASHINGTON—The District of Columbia Bar has moved closer to disciplining Rudy Giuliani , handing down a preliminary determination that he acted unethically while representing former President Donald Trump in post-election litigation.
