Lester Cohen/WireImageEven if you set aside the allegations against Dr. Luke, "143" doesn't make a strong case for his input. Without them, Dr. Luke and his new associates have created a pop vacuum, completely devoid of heart and personality. To the Editor:Re “Electric Cars Are Boring,” by Ezra Dyer (Opinion guest essay, April 13):If E.V.s are boring, I guess I am OK with being bored. owner, I no longer have to stop at the gas station to fill up in all kinds of (Chicago) weather. in various types of inclement weather. I am now at the age where simpler (boring) is better. It’s because they are 1) too expensive; 2) take too long to charge; 3) don’t go far enough on a single charge.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) —Drug task force officers suspected a Minnesota couple of selling methamphetamine when they raided their house in an operation that left five officers and one resident wounded last week, according to a search warrant released Wednesday. Gunfire broke out last Thursday when Sherburne County Drug Task Force officers attempted to execute the search warrant at the home of Karl Thomas Holmberg, 64. A second warrant released showed that police also looked for flammable and electrical materials and fire damage after the raid after seeing black smoke inside the residence as Holmberg exited, look back, then went back inside. He wrote that he got an informant or informants to buy meth from the couple twice earlier this year. Interviewed by police at the hospital, he said he didn’t think the officers serving the search warrant “had a right to be there and told them to leave,” according to the complaint.

DENVER, March 22 (Reuters) - Police were searching on Wednesday for a Denver high school student who shot and wounded two faculty members as they were patting him down for weapons as part of a "safety plan" devised for the youth based on previous behavioral issues, officials said. The East High School student, identified by police as 17-year-old Austin Lyle, fled the shooting scene on foot immediately after Wednesday's violence, which unfolded just before 10 a.m. local time (1600 GMT). Neither police nor education authorities disclosed the specific conduct that led the school to adopt an individualized security protocol for the student. A wanted bulletin issued after the shooting included a photo of the student and of a car similar to one he might be driving. In light of Wednesday's shooting, two armed police officers will be returned to East High School, located in Denver's City Park neighborhood, for the rest of the current academic year, said Alex Marrero, the district superintendent.

A former U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent accused of kidnapping and repeatedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Arizona was caught on police video saying what appears to be a threat against his accuser. “I cannot believe this s---,” Mitchell, who worked for CBP for 10 months and who is the son of two retired Florida police officers, could be heard saying, according to federal court papers. Mitchell worked for the CBP at a border post in Douglas, Arizona, according to the court papers. He tossed her backpack into a dumpster, the court papers state. Although Mitchell denied assaulting the teenager, “DNA recovered from the girl’s genitalia was consistent with Mitchell’s DNA,” the papers state.
