In just a few months, the world will have its first digital saint. Pope Francis on Wednesday announced April plans to canonize a teenage web designer who documented miracles online and used his tech skills to maintain web sites for local Catholic organizations. Acutis, who was born to Italian parents in London, was a web designer who died of leukemia in Italy in 2006 at the age of 15. The church has attributed two miracles to the teen informally known as “God’s influencer.”In May, the pope attributed a second miracle to the teen, who is set to become the church’s youngest contemporary saint. The move came four years after he was beatified in 2020 after one miracle was attributed to him.

They were found in Citta della Pieve, about 150 kilometers (90 miles) north of Rome. The ornate artifacts were seized by Italian police after 'clumsy' tomb raiders tried to find buyers online. They “had nothing to do with the world of (practiced) tomb raiders” and were “clumsy” and “amateurish” in the way they tried to access the black market for looted art, the prosecutor said. Another Etruscan tomb, belonging to the same “Pulfna” family, was found in Città della Pieve in 2015.

CNN —An American silver coin dating back to the 17th century, before the United States was founded, has sold for a record-breaking $2.52 million at auction, eight years after it was discovered in an old cabinet in Amsterdam. The threepence coin was struck in 1652 in Boston just weeks after the first mint in the then-British colony had opened, according to a statement released Monday by Stack’s Bowers Galleries, which handled the sale. This was a threepence coin, as shown by the Roman numerals on one side of it. A rare 1794 silver dollar believed to be one of the first – if not the first – made by the US mint sold for $10 million in 2013. Meanwhile, a rare 1933 “Double Eagle” coin, one of the last gold coins ever struck for circulation in the US, sold for $18.9 million in 2021.

CNN —The oldest known tablet inscribed with the Ten Commandments from the Old Testament is expected to fetch up to $2 million when it goes up for auction next month. The ancient stone will be on show in Sotheby's New York showroom from December 5, before going on sale later in the month. The inscription was placed face upward and the stone was exposed to heavy foot traffic. According to a press statement sent to CNN by Sotheby’s, which will auction the tablet in New York next month, the stone was sold to a scholar in 1943.
