Martin Scorsese has agreed to spearhead a documentary series about Christian saints for Fox Nation, the subscription streaming service run by Fox News Media. “Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints,” which begins airing in November, will be hosted, narrated and executive produced by Scorsese, the decorated director of classic films like “Taxi Driver” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Fox Nation is set to formally announce the series on Wednesday. Since its debut in 2018 as a companion service to Fox News, Fox Nation has expanded into entertainment and general-interest programming as it aspires to become a kind of Netflix for conservative audiences. The streaming network already boasts shows with Hollywood stars like Kevin Costner (“Yellowstone: One-Fifty”), Rob Lowe (“Liberty or Death: Boston Tea Party”) and Dan Aykroyd (“History of the World in Six Glasses”). The Scorsese series, created by Matti Leshem, dramatizes the stories of eight saints, including Joan of Arc, John the Baptist, Mary Magdalene, Francis of Assisi and Thomas Becket.

CNN —Rob Lowe turned 60 years old on Sunday, and literally, we can’t believe it. The “West Wing” star marked the occasion on his Instagram with a high-speed, 30-second selfie montage set to “Glory Days” by Bruce Springsteen, among other posts. Amanda Edwards/Getty ImagesThose 1983 flicks launched him into stardom, and Lowe’s crowning act as a pack member came in 1985’s “St. Elmo’s Fire,” in which he delivered an ultimately dramatic turn as bad boy gone good Billy. “Here’s to another 60 years,” he wrote in the caption.

In denim and leather and newly acquired vintage snakeskin boots, the cast and creative team bringing “The Outsiders” to Broadway went on a trip across Tulsa, Okla., last month — a granular, history-flecked tour of the place where, about 60 years earlier, S.E. Hinton’s coming-of-age story was written and set. Hinton, 75 and still a beloved local, was a star attraction; the visit was a way of mapping out how the new musical version might fit into, or even build on, the durable legacy of “The Outsiders.”Bouncing along together in a van, singing bits of the show’s score, the company members let out a collective gasp as they caught sight of the enormous Admiral Twin Drive-In. Hinton watched double features there as a kid, and it figured prominently in her 1967 novel. The theater, whose midcentury-style signage remains, also served as a location for Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 movie adaptation, whose stars included Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze.

The San Francisco-based company, founded in 2021, enables enterprises to handle a vast array of business departments from a single platform. Series' platform allows companies to manage areas including payments operations, business-to-business payments, payroll, HR, and treasury management. Series has raised $25 million across pre-seed and seed funding which it did using a pitch memo in Notion, an increasingly common form of attracting investor attention. The manner of his death remained under investigation, awaiting further test results, the department said in an statement. The large, slopping area below the crest of Mount Baldy is a popular destination for skiers, climbers and backpackers. But authorities warned then that heavy snow from weeks of winter storms had made the area treacherous for outdoor recreation. Several subsequent searches came up empty-handed, including a major sweep conducted days before Sands' remains were ultimately found in the Mount Baldy wilderness area, according to the sheriff's department. Cellphone signals detected on Sunday, Jan. 15, had showed Sands headed toward the ridge of Mount Baldy, apparently the last indication he was still on the move, the sheriff's department reported then.

CNN —Several familiar faces are walking the walk in support of TV and movie writers who are on strike. Members of the Writers Guild of America earlier this week after failing to reach a new contract agreement with studios and streamers. Jay Leno brought doughnuts to a picket line in video shared on social media. Deadline shared a video of “Sex and the City” star Cynthia Nixon at a picket line in New York City. “I think it’s incumbent upon all of us who care about writers, who care about creative television and movies, to come out here and show support.”
This corporate greed has got to go!”Similar scenes of solidarity unfolded across the entertainment capital. The streaming giant, for instance, has become known for “mini-rooms,” which is slang for hiring small groups of writers to map out a season before any official greenlight has been given. Because it isn’t a formal writers room, the pay is less. Writers in mini-rooms will sometimes work for as little as 10 weeks, and then have to scramble to find another job. (If the show is greenlit and goes into production, fewer writers are kept on board.)
A writers' strike has been underway since overnight Monday. Thousands of Hollywood writers have fanned out across the streets of Los Angeles since early Tuesday afternoon, waving signs and chanting to demonstrate their resolve. Insider spoke with eight WGA members who are picketing or contributing to the work stoppage in other ways. Are you a member of the Writers Guild of America or do you work in the entertainment industry? How is the writers' strike impacting you?

‘Unstable’ Review: Comic Highs With a New Lowe

Rob Lowe ’s hair is as monumental as his character’s ego in the eight-episode “Unstable,” which has a perversely magical secret: Its people would be obnoxious if they weren’t so charming. It’s “Seinfeldian” in a sense, self-absorption being the defining comic quality of most of the characters, who have no intention of changing. But “Unstable” is not a show about nothing: Ellis Dragon (Mr. Lowe), an incorrigibly eccentric chem-tech billionaire who has developed a biodegradable alternative to plastic, is relentlessly judgmental, flamboyantly narcissistic and has an insistent cheer that masks the fact he’s mourning his wife of 30 years. His son, Jackson ( John Owen Lowe ), despite being the child of a nut who guilts him relentlessly (and who has just lost his mother), is extraordinarily normal, perhaps the most normal-seeming character who has ever inhabited a sitcom. But no: Ellis’s second-in-command, Anna Bennet (the epic Sian Clifford of “Fleabag”), wouldn’t allow it, though she’s kept awfully busy wrangling Ellis into a state of productivity.
Massey told Fox 23 that when she confronted Widell on the accounting "irregularities," Widell lashed out and responded "aggressively." A separate unnamed property owner told Fox 23 that he paid Widell $11,000 to stage his rental. Since then, seven of Widell's tenants told Fox 23 their water had been shut off and they risk losing electricity. "Honestly, the worst thing she has done is taken away everyone's peace of mind," one tenant, Traci Nunnelly, told Fox 23. After convincing landlords to switch to Airbnb, Neth said, she would then seek to manage their listings as a paid property manager.
Netflix announced a new deal to integrate GM electric vehicles into popular shows like "Love is Blind" and "Queer Eye." On a press call announcing the deal, Lee said directors and showrunners would be involved in the process and that cars would be integrated in an "authentic" way so they don't "feel out of place." Netflix has a history of placing brands like Coke and GM in shows like "Stranger Things" and "Queer Eye." Lee insisted the GM deal isn't "product placement" and that GM isn't paying to put its vehicles on shows. Terms of the deal weren't shared; GM said it wasn't part of a TV ad buy on Netflix's Basic with Ads.
