In 1994, at just 15 years old, Usher Raymond IV, more commonly known as Usher, rose to fame after releasing his first album. Earning more money than most teens, Raymond could have easily splurged on expensive things like clothes and jewelry, but he says he chose a different path. "Surprisingly, I was never frivolous with my spending," Raymond tells CNBC Make It. "It wasn't until my latter years that I decided to buy cars and jewelry and things that would obviously depreciate." His hope is that his children will follow in his footsteps and do the same.

Despite the research, Duolingo insists its guilt-tripping notifications do the trick of enticing people to drop whatever they're doing to log on to the app. When Duolingo's head of product, Cem Kansu, posted a thread in 2020 about the success of "the passive aggressive reminder," several unhappy Duolingo users chimed in.

The complaint by the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission cited statements Rokita made on Fox News in July 2022 about Dr. Caitlin Bernard in a case that became a flashpoint in the debate over abortion access. The Indiana Supreme Court is also the ultimate arbiter for any attorneys charged with misconduct by the commission. The commission said those comments violated rules barring lawyers from making public statements with a substantial likelihood of "materially prejudicing" a case. Bernard has said the Ohio child was referred to her three days after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the 1973 case that guaranteed federal abortion rights. A lawyer for Bernard said she had no comment on the disciplinary case against Rokita.

Governor of New Mexico Michelle Lujan Grisham speaks at a Democratic Party of New Mexico campaign rally featuring U.S. President Joe Biden at the Gallegos Community Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S., November 3, 2022. Her order outraged gun-rights advocates and drew backlash from fellow Democrats and law enforcement officials who labeled it unconstitutional. "Governor Grisham's tyranny is temporarily in check today," said Dudley Brown, president of a Colorado gun group that sued the governor. In the days after the gun ban, Albuquerque's mayor and Bernalillo County's sheriff both called for a special session of the state's legislature to deal with gun crime. Around 500 people die by guns each year in New Mexico, which ranks sixth among U.S. states for gun deaths per capita, according to gun violence prevention group Everytown for Gun Safety.

WASHINGTON, May 17 (Reuters) - Boeing Co (BA.N) said on Wednesday it is rolling out a data modeling tool aimed at helping airlines and policymakers determine the quickest, most efficient path to reducing aviation emissions to zero by 2050. Boeing unveiled a beta version of Cascade in July 2022 but it was not publicly available. The public launch of Cascade comes just days after U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg met with counterparts from Canada, the United Kingdom and Singapore at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum to discuss investments in sustainable aviation fuel. On Tuesday, Reuters reported that European Union countries are set to finalize SAF targets for airports despite some pushback from airlines. “Our intent is to scale SAF and help it scale by first ... examining what has to change in an airplane to be 100% compatible with (SAF),” Raymond said.

Aduhelm is the controversial Alzheimer's treatment developed by Biogen and Eisai, whose sales fell below Wall Street's expectations as its efficacy was called into question. "For our part, we think Leqembi has set a high bar – especially with regard to safety," said Raymond.

NEW YORK, Jan 11 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed New York to enforce a Democratic-backed gun control law adopted after the justices last year struck down the state's limits on carrying concealed handguns outside the home in a landmark ruling that expanded gun rights. Circuit Court of Appeals in December put that decision on hold while the state pursues an appeal. Wednesday's action may not be the last time the Supreme Court addresses New York's new gun law. New York state Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat, praised the court's decision to keep the law in effect. Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul signed into law the Concealed Carry Improvement Act on July 1, a week after the Supreme Court's landmark ruling against a New York concealed carry permit restriction.
