AdvertisementReed Hastings is applying a Netflix management technique to his latest venture: a Utah ski resort. And he's using some of his signature management philosophies with Powder Mountain, chiefly the "keeper test" and high compensation. "The 'Keeper Test' is: If someone was going to quit, would you work hard to keep them to change their mind?" Over in Utah, Hastings is remaking a ski resort about 80 miles north of Park City. Part of the ski resort, which has been around since the 1970s, was closed off to the public in favor of homeowners and private skiing.

“We have posts that are exactly the same on Twitter and on Bluesky, and with those identical posts, Bluesky is getting 20 times the engagement or more than Twitter,” Pittman said. On Sunday, Musk confirmed the platform has deprioritized posts including links, which was how journalists and other creators historically shared their work. Rose Wang, Bluesky’s chief operating officer, quoted the Guardian’s stats, writing: “We want Bluesky to be a great home for journalists, publishers, and creators. Journalists who belong to and cover issues affecting marginalized populations have found Bluesky to be a much more welcoming environment. “Journalists don’t like toxicity and toxic comments.

LONDON — The countryside came to the capital as thousands of farmers packed into London streets around Britain’s Parliament to protest changes to tax rules. Some drove tractors, others brought hay bales, many carried signs saying “no farms, no food.” All were protesting against the new Labour government’s decision to tax inherited agricultural property. Despite the gray skies and wet weather, thousands of farmers gathered in central London. “Ministers claim the inheritance tax cap hits only the rich, but it could put 70,000 farms — big and small — at risk. We are not — claiming that 70,000 farms will shut down or have to pay the tax a year.” The website defines a generation as 40 years.

The tariffs might also violate the very trade agreement Trump negotiated with Mexico and Canada during his first term. This is not what the Constitution envisionedAfter all, the Constitution specifically gives Congress, not the president, the power to “regulate Commerce with foreign Nations.”How does Trump have the power to impose tariffs without any input from Congress? It’s pretty much the opposite of what’s in the Constitution, and it didn’t happen right away. In 1934, they passed the Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act, which gave the president power to lower import duties for countries with which the US had trade agreements. In the 1970s, Congress gave the president new trade promotion authority power to negotiate trade agreements and then have Congress ratify them without amendment.

Some of the nation’s leading civil rights groups told NBC News that they are gearing up for a flood of legal battles to protect the protesters. Under Rubinstein, America First Legal has in the past year filed four lawsuits that provide a glimpse into how the Trump administration could differ from its predecessor. America First Legal alleges in the suits that the State Department, the Justice Department, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Education have protected pro-Hamas extremists. Rubinstein in an interview brought up an additional law he expects a second Trump administration could enforce. The Knight Institute said although it expects the new Trump administration to aggressively police speech, it is prepared to fight back.

“Police officers must respect people’s civil and constitutional rights and treat people with dignity,” said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division in a statement on the report. “After an extensive review, we found that police officers in Trenton routinely failed to respect the Fourth Amendment rights of those who call Trenton home. Also, the report noted, since 2021, accusations of officer misconduct has cost the city more than $7 million to resolve lawsuits. “When police stop someone in Trenton, our investigation found that all too often they violated the constitutional rights of those they stopped, sometimes with tragic consequences. “Even prior to the USDOJ review, the City and the [Trenton Police Department] had already begun to change policies and practices that prioritize community safety, accountability, and respect for civil liberties.

He last played at the Paris Olympics, but continuing injury struggles have severely limited his time on the court over the past two seasons. “It is obviously a difficult decision, one that has taken me some time to make,” he said last month in a video posted on social media. “I leave with the absolute peace of mind of having given my best, of having made an effort in every way,” Nadal said.
