In the 1970s, the coolest job you could have was flipping burgers at McDonald's. "Believe it or not, you needed to have an in to get a job at McDonald's back then, so my brother, who was working in the kitchen, recommended me for the job," Hendel, 66, tells CNBC Make It. "I never thought it would be my forever job," says Hendel. And he goes, 'Do you think you're good at it?' In 1990, Hendel became the owner/operator of his first McDonald's restaurant in Brooklyn.

"For every class you can take in high school, that's one less class you are financing down the road," said Chad McGuire, director of Post's High School Academy. These programs are not restricted to high school students on a specific, and often accelerated, academic track, as many AP classes are. Where dual enrollment falls shortNearly two-thirds of community college dual enrollment students nationally were from low- or middle-income families, according to a 2017 study from the Community College Research Center at Columbia University. Of those students, 88% continued on to college after high school, and most earned a degree within six years.

A Connecticut college basketball star was fatally shot over the weekend at a New Jersey nature preserve, according to officials. Phil Urban, a 6-foot-6 forward at Post University in Connecticut, was shot in Hopewell Township, New Jersey, on Saturday, about 30 miles away from his native Manalapan Township. Post University CEO & President John L. Hopkins said the community was "heartbroken" to learn of Urban's death. Urban was a freshman, according to Post University’s 2022-23 basketball roster. Post University's basketball team welcomed him back in April on Twitter, calling him a “skilled wing” who “can play multiple positions.
