WASHINGTON — A Donald Trump supporter who federal authorities say built a giant pro-Trump billboard that the mob of Trump supporters used as a battering ram against police officers during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was arrested on Tuesday. Several other Jan. 6 defendants have been charged with using the sign — which read, in all caps, “Trump 2020 Keep America Great.” — as a battering ram during the attack. Jeffrey Newcomb at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, with a banner in the background brought by him. The FBI said Newcomb also wrote that "one of the protesters found the sign[] and put it up on the Capitol. Last week, Trump called Jan. 6 "a day of love" and falsely claimed that his supporters were unarmed.

Liam Payne, the former One Direction singer, had multiple drugs in his system when he fell to his death from a hotel balcony in Argentina's capital Buenos Aires, several local and international news outlets have reported. An initial toxicology report revealed the British singer, who died aged 31, had drugs in his system at the time of death including “pink cocaine,” according to a report from ABC News on Monday, which cited sources. Two racing teams, one owned by basketball legend Michael Jordan, filed a federal lawsuit on Wednesday, accusing NASCAR operators of being "monopolistic bullies" who line the pockets of the circuit's founding family. CNN —Gavin Creel, a Tony-winning Broadway veteran known for his work in productions of “Hello, Dolly!” “Waitress” and “The Book of Mormon,” has died, according to his representative. Matt Polk, a representative for Creel, told CNN that the actor’s passing was confirmed by Creel’s partner Alex Temple Ward. “As an award-winning Broadway star, he brought irrepressible verve, passion, and boundless energy to his onstage roles while devoting his offstage time to advocacy and community-building,” an obituary provided by Polk stated.
