AdvertisementJon Collins-Black has hidden five treasure chests across the US for a public hunt. Now, he's hidden five treasure boxes in locations around the US — and he wants people to find them. He wrote all the clues one needs to find these treasure chests into a book, "There's Treasure Inside." AdvertisementAll five treasure chests are also puzzle boxes, Collins-Black said — but if one finds the chest, instructions are placed with it outlining how to open the boxes, so people don't have to destroy them. "I don't have this desire for me to be long gone, and they're to be the 'Legend of the John Collins-Black treasures,'" he said.

Angelo was paid by a Democratic political action committee for the post, a fact that’s clearly noted in the caption. Campaigning moves to social mediaIn 2024, political content posted by social media creators has become just as important as traditional celebrity endorsements — if not more. Together, the two organizations paid 15 social media creators to produce content encouraging Latinos to vote. Election advertisements are overseen by a different agency, the Federal Elections Commission, which lacks a similar disclosure rule for individuals who are paid to make endorsements on social media. Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has since 2020 allowed paid political content from influencers, so long as the organization paying for it is registered in its ad library.

Niantic initially rejected Bell's pitch, so he emailed the company's CEO once per week for three months — ultimately securing $150,000 in startup funds, Bell said. "That's brilliant, and I hate you, because now everybody out there is going to send us 600 emails a week," investor judge Mark Cuban told Bell in response. His Austin-based app, Card.io, is a social game where users compete for turf in their city by walking, running or biking. The app is free, with individual and group subscription tiers that remove ads and offer social media-type functions for members. Netflix has also invested in its own anime content and turned "classic" anime series into live action productions. "We expect Netflix's anime strategy of licensing top performing Japanese anime series, as well as funding its own animated and live action anime series to continue into the foreseeable future," the bank's analysts wrote. The entertainment giant already operates anime planning and production company Aniplex in its music segment, and anime streaming platform Crunchyroll in its picture segment. Looking ahead, it wants to provide even more support to the anime industry, Jefferies' analysts wrote.

Nintendo and The Pokémon Co. are suing the makers of Palworld, claiming the game infringes on the “Pocket Monster” franchise’s patents, according to a statement from Nintendo on Thursday. Representatives for Nintendo, The Pokémon Co. and Pocketpair did not immediately respond to requests for comment Thursday. Some players said they noticed that the characters in the game appear similar to those in the Pokémon franchise. Palworld is not the first indie video game to bear comparisons to other wildly popular games made by a major studio (often called triple-A studios). Steam data shows Palworld is the third-most-played game of all time on the platform.

Harris' campaign started with sighs of relief from Democratic voters over Biden dropping out and instant enthusiasm that contributed to Harris' record-breaking fundraising efforts, Dagnes, who focuses on political media, said. "Young people represent a strategic sector for Kamala for two reasons," Gutiérrez told BI. A new court filing accuses Skillz Inc. — a struggling mobile gaming company — of trying to sabotage its rivals by creating a fake consumer advocacy website. The allegations were made in a counterclaim filed to court Monday by one of those competitors, Papaya Games. A screenshot of the 4 Fair Play website, included in a Papaya Games court filing, shows that Skillz's competitors were identified as the worst offenders — not Skillz itself. A Skillz executive provided comments on the 4 Fair Play website design, according to screenshots of a website mockup included as a court exhibit. But it said in Monday's counterclaim that Skillz games, however, do use bots.

He estimated that last year, PSA graded at least 6 million Pokémon trading cards out of the total 14 million it processed. It's made a lifetime total of more than 64.8 billion Pokémon cards since 1999, and production has been accelerating rapidly since the pandemic. Japanese cities like Tokyo and Kyoto, are traditionally known for shrines, temples and historic cultural sites. But as the birthplace of anime, manga and, of course, Pokémon, Japan is also a pop culture powerhouse and a hotbed of kid-friendly activities, from practicing ninja skills to spending time with Snorlax. For a family trip, “the beauty of Japan is you can walk five steps and easily attract the attention of a child,” said Ramesh Krishan, who goes by the name RamKy and whose company, Japan Unfiltered, specializes in candid tours of Tokyo, Mount Fuji and other destinations. “It could be a capsule toy-dispensing machine, a karaoke bar with interesting desserts on display, or even the peppy music heard playing inside train stations.”Here are six stops on a family-oriented tour of the country’s most-visited cities.

Making a Pokémon fan’s day means more than catching ‘em allPokémon isn’t Coop’s day job, but it’s become an increasingly meaningful part of his life. Coop was, like many children of the ‘90s, a Poké-fan in his youth, collecting cards and facing bosses in the early Pokémon video games. But he takes a shine to one of Coop’s cards with an iridescent Alakazam, a mustachioed psychic Pokémon, and a high score of 9. It’s a card Coop intended to sell, but without thinking twice, Coop opens his display case and gifts the kid the card for free. Coop still sells cards on eBay and at card conventions –– he’s built a massive collection since 2018, and he’s submitted numerous cards for grading.

CNN —A video-gaming Italian teenager will become the Catholic Church’s first millennial saint after his cause for canonization was approved by church authorities. Often depicted wearing jeans and trainers, his story is seen as helpful for the Catholic Church as it seeks to better connect with the younger generation in a digital age, and he’s become popular with Catholic youth groups. In May, a second miracle attributed to Acutis was recognized by Pope Francis, a decision which paved the way for him to be declared a saint. He was reportedly healed after his mother said she prayed to Acutis to intercede and help heal her son. Her mother said she prayed for her daughter’s recovery at the tomb of Acutis in Assisi.

Within the span of seven years, Kopi Kenangan went from a local Indonesian coffee stall to a venture-backed unicorn coffee company. "Instead of focusing on the sofa, or fast Wi-Fi, we're going to focus on a good, high quality cup of coffee," Tirtanata said. This decision helped Kopi Kenangan scale to over 200 locations and 10 cities within the first two years of operations. Taking a data-driven hyperlocal approach means that a Kopi Kenangan latte in Singapore will taste different from a latte in Indonesia. This helped Kopi Kenangan more than triple its store count during the pandemic.
