The outgoing American leader arrived for a family picture with world leaders during his final Group of 20 summit Monday, only to find the photo had already been taken without him. Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer were among those who did make it, smiling and raising linked hands for the traditional summit set piece. One cameraman spotted him behind a nearby palm tree alongside Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Italian premier Giorgia Meloni. Buda Mendes / Getty ImagesDuring the first session of the summit Sunday, Biden reflected on his impending departure from the White House. “As you know, this is my last G20 summit.

Mauro Pimentel/AFP/Getty ImagesThe moment was a fluke, the type of logistical error that’s almost inevitable at gatherings of almost two dozen world leaders. Yet it was difficult to ignore the impression it left: that Biden is disappearing from view as the world turns its attention to his successor. What members of Biden’s team have been willing to acknowledge is how little they actually know about what Trump and his team may be planning. In Lima and Rio de Janiero, Biden fielded no questions from the press and his aides spoke only off-camera. Reporters had opportunities to ask Biden questions at the G20 summit in Rome in 2021, in Bali in 2022, and in Vietnam in 2023, following the summit’s conclusion in India the prior day.

During this period, I've spent $170 on four failed tours and gathered plenty of intel on the dos and don'ts of spotting them. The next day, while waiting at a bus stop in the city center, the northern lights appeared in colorful irony. There are ways to try to see the northern lights even if you skip toursNorthern lights can look different depending on where you are.

Several people, including children and college students, have reported receiving racist text messages from unrecognized phone numbers in recent days. CNN has reached out to state officials for additional information on the text messages. “My initial reaction was probably like disbelief, like I thought it was like a joke,” said Jones, who forwarded the text message to her loved ones. “I feel like it’s a spam message (and) I do feel disappointed about the message they’re sending a day after the election,” Burwell said. Officials in Washington, DC, and Virginia told CNN Thursday they are looking into the racist text messages.

They are days too often rushed through, as if we will have 6 o’clock sunsets forever. The sunlight still carries summer’s amber warmth, a last flex before winter’s harsh, white light takes over. The leaves are at peak color, soon to turn brown. Photographers, like vampires, rue the high midday sun, which flattens everything from above. No matter — this time of year, the sun is all sharp angles and long shadows.
Residents countered, saying the IDF had blown up Palestinian homes in Masafer Yatta decades earlier, in 1966). Speaking from Adra’s family home in Masafer Yatta, they spoke with CNN about life under occupation, and what, if anything, their documentary might change. And it’s unfortunate that people are now talking about the need for political change only after, in a way, human beings are paying with their blood. What I saw, like the missions happening, the attacks are happening here in Masafer Yatta. And this is what’s really happening here in Masafer Yatta.

The U.S. Army on Friday released a heavily redacted copy of a police report stemming from an August incident in which a staffer from former President Donald Trump’s campaign allegedly pushed an Arlington National Cemetery worker. A Trump campaign spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday night on the Army documents. Arlington National Cemetery released a statement at the time pointing to a federal law barring political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, including the use of photographers. An Army spokesperson also said in August that the Trump campaign aide had “abruptly pushed aside” a cemetery employee who was trying to enforce restrictions on taking photos and video in that area. Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung previously denied elements of the incident, saying that there “was no physical altercation as described,” and that an unnamed person “decided to physically block” members of Trump’s team.

Cheyenne, Wyoming AP —A famous grizzly bear beloved for decades by countless tourists, biologists and professional wildlife photographers in Grand Teton National Park is dead after being struck by a vehicle in western Wyoming. Unlike many grizzly bears, she was often seen near roads in Grand Teton, drawing crowds and traffic jams. Some believe male grizzlies kill cubs to bring the mother into heat. More than 1,000 people quickly posted comments calling her a queen, a legend and an ambassador for grizzly bears. Hunters sometimes mistake grizzlies for legal-to-hunt black bears or kill grizzlies in self-defense — and wildlife managers often kill grizzlies that prey on cattle and sheep.

Only 13 years ago, the world learned of what were Muammar Gaddafi's last few moments through shaky video filmed on cellphones. Small drones are a critical feature of combat in Ukraine, where they've been used for battlefield observation and attack. The hovering quality of the Sinwar video indicates it was likely filmed by a quadcopter. Nonetheless, technological advances mean that drones watching the battlefield will be a ubiquitous feature of future wars, a looming threat to ground troops and fleeing leaders.

CNBC contacted a dozen New York City art galleries and the same number in London to request price lists for their current exhibitions. "The degree of popularity, the level of scarcity and the degree of credentialization [or] … if something has organically captured the zeitgeist," are factors, he told CNBC by phone. "Despite more online information aiding discovery and valuation, there really isn't a highly liquid global marketplace, contributing to perceptions and realities of 'black box' pricing," Tjan told CNBC in a follow-up email. At least that seems to be the message — both symbolically and stylistically — embedded in Kamala Harris’ second ever Vogue cover. It's the vice president's second cover for the title. Annie Leibovitz/VogueThe image, by fashion photographer Annie Leibovitz, is a far cry from Harris’ first Vogue cover back in November 2021. Annie Leibovitz/VogueThis time around, though, neither Vogue nor Harris’ team seemed concerned with signposting her authenticity and approachability (Harris’ viral meme-ridden campaign seems to have handled that). But for most Harris’ fans, the second Vogue cover is something of a full circle moment — righting the perceived “wrongs” of the first.
