Donald Trump told a female lawyer who was questioning him that he would never be interested in her. He made the comment after explaining that his rape accuser E. Jean Carroll was not his type. Trump was deposed for a rape and defamation lawsuit brought by Carroll. In the video, Trump denied raping Carroll and repeated his claim that she is not his "type." "I say this with as much respect as I can, she's not my type," Trump said.
Hedge-fund manager Louis Bacon, pictured on left, in 2013; former retail mogul Peter Nygard in 2016. Photo: Charles Eshelman/FilmMagic/Getty Images; Phillip Faraone/Getty ImagesHedge-fund manager Louis Bacon was awarded $203 million in damages and legal fees in a defamation case against former retail mogul Peter Nygard that stems from the two men’s long-running feud over neighboring properties in the Bahamas. A New York state court-appointed referee ordered Mr. Nygard this week to pay the amount, saying he orchestrated a yearslong campaign to destroy Mr. Bacon’s reputation. Mr. Nygard falsely asserted that the financier was a member of the Ku Klux Klan, had been found guilty of insider trading, was involved in the death of an employee and a family friend at his Bahamas home and had been implicated in arson, the referee said in his decision.
Manhattan DA lawyers worried about indicting Trump over "hush money" payments to Stormy Daniels. In order to convict Trump on felony charges, prosecutors would need to prove Trump intended to commit or wanted to conceal a separate crime through the payments. But a judge might believe the Manhattan district attorney's office is overreaching by enforcing federal law. If the case gets to a jury, jurors may wonder why federal prosecutors didn't bring charges against Trump, or they might not believe Cohen's testimony. A representative for the Manhattan district attorney's office didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
Depending on what Daniels told Tacopina, he could be disqualified in the case, experts say. Tacopina didn't end up taking on Daniels as a client. And the communications from Daniels didn't create a conflict of representation, according to Tacopina. Even if Tacopina didn't take on Daniels as a client, lawyers still have obligations to prospective clients, legal experts say. That appears to be the position of Daniels' attorney.
Portions of Trump's deposition in E. Jean Carroll's defamation suit were unsealed Friday. In it, he attacks Carroll's attorney, Roberta Kaplan, threatening to sue her personally. At another point in the deposition Trump referred to Kaplan as being friends with "Cuomo." Carroll's deposition currently has a trial date set for April 10, but it's unclear if it will make it that far. Carroll initially wasn't able to sue Trump for the alleged assault, because the statute of limitations had expired.

Gwyneth Paltrow spoke to Seth Meyers on "Late Night With Seth Meyers" on Wednesday. The Oscar-winner also spoke about her recently announced "Goop at Sea" cruise, but credited the wrong cruise company that she is collaborating with. The chat show host brought up the recently announced "Goop at Sea" cruise, and asked Paltrow if she's ever been on one herself. Paltrow and Meyers continued to discuss what exactly a Goop cruise would entail — "healthy good, wellbeing programmes" — when Paltrow realized her mistake. Once the company name had been confirmed, Paltrow delivered the "Goop at Sea" promotion again with Meyers' help.
