CNN —Four years ago, North Carolina voters handed Democrats one of the party’s toughest losses and one of its most consequential wins.
The race to succeed the term-limited Cooper, however, seems to be leaning toward the Democratic nominee, North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein.
But North Carolina is still a purple state with a history of elections decided by razor-thin margins.
