Voters do not register by party, but they must participate in only one party’s primary election.
Mississippi is holding presidential primaries on Tuesday as well as its state primary, which will include races for state and congressional offices.
If no candidate receives a majority of the vote in a state primary race, the top two candidates will advance to a runoff on April 2.
