Daedone, who also served as OneTaste's chief executive until 2017, and former head of sales Rachel Cherwitz have each pleaded not guilty to one count of forced labor conspiracy. NEW YORK, June 6 (Reuters) - The founder of OneTaste, a sexual wellness company that claims to teach "orgasmic meditation," has been charged with running a cult-like conspiracy involving forced labor, federal prosecutors said on Tuesday. Daedone, 56, is at large, while Cherwitz, 43, was arrested on Tuesday and is expected to appear in a California federal court. Founded in 2004, California-based OneTaste was the subject last year of the Netflix (NFLX.O) documentary "Orgasm Inc," which followed its rise and the emergence of "disturbing allegations" from members. OneTaste did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Reporting by Luc Cohen in New York Editing by Leslie AdlerOur Standards: The Thomson Reuters Trust Principles.

The founder and a top officer of a San Francisco-based commune and sexual wellness company that promoted “orgasmic meditation,” before questions of abuse began to circulate, were indicted Tuesday on charges of forced labor conspiracy by federal prosecutors in Brooklyn. Ms. Daedone, who lives in San Diego, was still at large as of Tuesday afternoon. If convicted, the two women would face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. It was unclear who was representing the women. The company, which grew in popularity for its focus on female sexuality and by providing courses, coaching and events around the topic, gained notoriety for its practice of orgasmic meditation.

More than a dozen people formerly associated with a wellness company known for “orgasmic meditation” are asking a judge to weigh in on a forthcoming Netflix documentary, saying the film should be released without “misappropriated” sexually explicit material that could show them, their lawyer said Wednesday. The documentary, billed as an investigation into allegations about the company, OneTaste, is set to be released Saturday. It isn't clear if video showing the plaintiffs, who are identified in the suit as "Doe," is included in the movie. In a statement Wednesday, OneTaste CEO Anjuli Ayer described the people "standing up to Netflix" as "brave and powerful." "I join them to call on Netflix to not go forward with a project so fundamentally flawed," Ayer said.
