The sketch comedy showcase presented its version of the meeting between outgoing president Joe Biden and Trump at the White House on Wednesday, portraying Trump's cabinet picks as unconventional. Carvey's Biden complained that his dog had been attacking foreign leaders who visit the White House — "every single one." Staying on topic, Trump noted, "I am very fastly picking the most epic cabinet of all time," he said. Repertory player Sarah Sherman portrayed Gaetz, who is Trump's choice to oversee the Department of Justice, which previously investigated him. “SNL” airs on NBC, a division of NBCUniversal, which is also the parent company of NBC News.

A number of catalysts could drive gains for Teladoc Health in the coming months, according to Goldman Sachs. Analyst David Roman initiated coverage on the name with a buy rating, and his price target of $14 implies 56.3% upside from Thursday's close. Looking ahead to next year, he anticipates that the virtual health care company's results will be driven by slightly better-than-expected top-line growth in its Integrated Care segment. But that didn't quite come to fruition as the pandemic eased with patients returning to in-person visits and larger health care players developing their own telehealth solutions. Among the 27 analysts covering it, only six in total have a strong buy or buy rating.

AdvertisementA Philadelphia judge has explained why he didn't shut down Musk's $1 million-a-day sweepstakes. The decision would help Musk and his America PAC move for outright dismissal of the lawsuit. Elon Musk's controversial $1 million-a-day swing state sweepstakes was never a lottery, a Philadelphia judge said in a written decision explaining why he declined to shut the program down after a hearing last Monday. Lotteries require a prize, a payment for a chance to win that prize, and for winners to be chosen at random, the judge said. Representatives for Krasner, Musk, and the PAC did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the judge's decision and next steps in the case.

Nearly 63% of the US population has fluoridated water flowing through their taps, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Hawaii is the only US state without any fluoride in municipal taps; fluoridated water is only available there on military bases. As such, fluoridated water is now mandated on any military base with more than 3,300 people. Rumors have circulated that drinking fluoridated water can lead to bone cancer (osteosarcoma), but long-term studies from both the UK and US haven't found any credible evidence of higher rates in areas where people drink fluoridated water. Their review concluded that some studies of fluoride consumption have found links between higher fluoride water levels and lower IQs in kids.

Mass deportations may affect the economy, including inflation and the job market. "Likewise, Tom Homan will be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin. President-elect Donald Trump's pick to carry out his sweeping deportation plans may be able to operate with more power, and less oversight from Congress, than some of his own Cabinet members. Homan will instead be the Trump administration's "Border Czar," a title that could grant him significant influence over immigration and border policy without the formal authority — and guardrails — that come with being a Cabinet secretary. Homan will also "be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin," Trump wrote in the post. "White House appointees are subject to less oversight than Cabinet and sub-Cabinet officials," said Katherine Hawkins, senior legal analyst for the Project on Government Oversight. "It is much harder for Congress to enforce subpoenas against White House officials, and they are more likely to cite executive privilege and refuse to testify and have that refusal upheld by courts," Hawkins said.

But that hasn’t stopped abortion rights supporters from pushing for votes up and down the ballot. Across the South, supporters of abortion rights are using the issue to motivate voters. Although Texas does not have a statewide referendum on abortion, Rep. Colin Allred's Senate campaign has galvanized abortion rights supporters. It’s easier for Democrats to campaign on the issue, she said, because their party is more united in favor of abortion rights than Republicans are in opposition. That switch proved pivotal in passing the state’s abortion ban.
