Its estimated EPS for the current quarter has fallen more than 16% to 94 cents a share. The stock has been under pressure during this stretch, dropping 11.6% in the past three months as of Tuesday's close. Artificial intelligence chipmaker Nvidia announced a 10-for-1 stock split as part of its quarterly earnings report on May 22. The firm examined the roughly 3,000 stock splits from large-cap U.S. companies since 1993 to examine their impact. Uber is going into the Dow Transports on Monday, marking the first change to the index since Dec. 7, 2021, when Old Dominion replaced Kansas City Southern. Under Dow Theory, the Transports should confirm a new high in the Dow Industrials. Uber is a funny add because unlike many of the other index components, it's not really a shipping company. The add likely reflects the Dow Transports index committee's belief that this is a transportation company, even if it just shuttles people instead of packages.
