The technology is similar to Apple's Face ID but mobile platform-agnostic, given that many Worldcoin users have Android devices. So I can take a photo of your face, and, through complicated AI, I could fool Face ID, for example. If it is the first time, the orb takes the iris code and cryptographically processes the iris code. Individually, neither of those new codes looks anything like the iris code, nor can they be brought back to the iris code on their own. To get an iris code, you have to recombine all of those pieces.

ET, the X account belonging to Trump's daughter-in-law, Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump appeared to announce that the digital currency project, dubbed World Liberty Financial, had been launched. One minute later, Donald Trump's youngest daughter, Tiffany Trump's X account also posted an endorsement and a website link. All of which makes it nearly impossible for the public to trace the identity of the person behind the fake World Liberty Financial sites. A few minutes after Lara Trump's posts, her husband, Donald Trump's son Eric Trump, appeared to use his own X account to write "This is a scam!!" All of these posts, including Eric Trump's warning, have since been deleted.

DORA requires banks, insurance companies and investment to strengthen their IT security. The EU regulation also seeks to ensure the financial services industry is resilient in the event of a severe disruption to operations. These IT providers often deliver "critical digital services to customers," said Joe Vaccaro, general manager of Cisco-owned internet quality monitoring firm ThousandEyes. This has made banks and other financial services providers more vulnerable to cyberattacks and other incidents. DORA will focus more on banks' digital supply chain — which represents a new, potentially less comfortable legal dynamic for financial firms.

Lionel Bonaventure | Afp | Getty ImagesLONDON — Microsoft is handing over the development of all of its best artificial intelligence tools and software to OpenAI, according to one tech CEO — which could be a boon for arch-rival Google. He noted that the so-called transformers that power today's generative AI technologies "all came from Google." Microsoft as an AI 'consultancy'McKinnon added that there's a risk Microsoft's position in AI becomes reduced to that of a "consultancy." Still, Google has a mountain to climb if it's going to achieve commercial success with its own AI investments. Microsoft has effectively become the leader in the push toward foundation AI models given its investment in and partnership with OpenAI.

Data analytics software maker Databricks said in a statement on Tuesday that it's acquiring Tabular, a startup that helps optimize data stored in the cloud. Databricks is paying over $1 billion to buy Tabular, Databricks CEO Ali Ghodsi said in an interview. Snowflake was also bidding on Tabular, as was Confluent , a person familiar with the matter told CNBC.
