Donald Trump's attorneys are demanding the judge who presided over his New York hush money trial and conviction immediately throw out the case, saying it would be "uniquely destabilizing to the country" otherwise. Also, the suggested Earth ring would have “had to be the result of the disruption of a much larger body as the authors indicate in their paper,” he added in an email, so the asteroid, likely about 37 feet (11 meters) in diameter, could not have made a new ring for Earth. However, “this ring formation event we think may have happened only once in the last 500 million years.”

☆ ‘Halloween comet’ did not survive its flyby of the sun, NASA says

C/2024 S1 was a sungrazer, a comet that passes within a distance of about 850,000 miles (1,367,942 kilometers) from the sun. “Comets are really hard to predict, and sungrazing comets like this are even harder than most. NASA“Statistically, it’s extremely rare for sungrazing comets to survive (as they fly) past the Sun,” Battams told CNN in an email. A handful of larger sungrazing comets have been observed surviving their close pass by the sun, such as comet C/2011 W3 Lovejoy in 2011. However, any debris from C/2023 Tsuchinshan–ATLAS or C/2024 S1 will not pass near enough to Earth to produce a meteor shower, Cooke said.

The Miami Heat revealed a statue of franchise legend and basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade on Sunday, with the design of the statue immediately going viral and drawing some unwanted comparisons. The statue’s design – which depicts Johnson in various stages of pitching motion – is certainly unique.
