Here’s what we know – and don’t – about China’s space plane. The term “space plane” often evokes NASA’s Space Shuttle, which flew 135 missions from 1981 to 2011, carrying astronauts into orbit and helping to construct the International Space Station. Hulton Archive/Getty ImagesWhat do we know about China’s space plane program? China’s space plane development comes as a growing number of countries are paying attention to the deepening connections between security on Earth and in space – and vying for so-called counterspace technologies with the potential to disrupt or even destroy adversaries’ assets in space. But observers have also raised questions about the activities of the space plane, including its own deployment of multiple small satellites.

MOGADISHU, Nov 24 (Reuters) - The East African Community trade bloc admitted Somalia as its eighth member on Friday, a move Somali authorities and businesses hope will boost the country's war-ravaged economy. "Somalia officially joins the East African Community, reinforcing ties and opening new doors for progress and partnership," Daud Aweis, Somalia's minister for information, culture and tourism said in a post on X, formerly Twitter. In turn the bloc's large population and existing customs union and common market are a draw for investors that Somalia can now tap into. Somali businesses said the country's vibrant private sector, which has overcome long odds to stay afloat, would bring a fresh injection of risk-tolerant entrepreneurs into the trade bloc and boost exchanges across the large Somali Diaspora. "It will be simpler for the large Somali Diaspora living across East Africa to access financial services and products," said Shuayb Haji Nur Mohamed, managing director of Salaam Somali Bank, one of Somalia's major banks.

Also present was the cynical frontier moralism, balanced by sentimentality, that runs through most of Sheridan’s shows (including “Yellowstone” and its Old West spinoffs). But Sheridan’s tics were easier to take in “Special Ops,” which felt more relaxed but also more tightly constructed than his previous shows (with the exception of the droll gangster drama “Tulsa King,” which is overseen by Terence Winter). Maybe it’s just practice — across his six dramas, Sheridan has written or co-written close to 80 episodes of television over the last five years. supervisor and Morgan Freeman, in a few scenes, as the querulous secretary of state. The problem with Sheridan’s other shows is that they give you too much time to think; in “Special Ops,” you could just focus on the mission.
