Nissim Yogev spent 25 years as a combat flight navigator in the Israeli Air Force, where he fought in Israel’s war with Lebanon and saw his best friend go missing in combat, never to return.
Last week, he said he made the hardest decision of his life when, with tears streaming down his face, he wrote to his commander that he would stop reporting for volunteer reserve duty, where he trained cadets at the air force’s only flight school.
