This year, the start of Diwali — which celebrates good over evil and light over darkness by some South Asian religions — fell on the same day as Halloween. On years when the two holidays collide, which hasn't happened since 2016, many in the South Asian diaspora put them together for "Diwaloween." The Instagram post features Chopra Jonas and Jonas in traditional Indian garments, including a sari and a kurta, respectively. They held a Western ceremony, complete with a white gown, followed by a traditional Hindu ceremony the next day, in which Chopra Jonas wore red and ornate henna.
