When asked about the regression Kingsbury said he didn’t plan on changing his offense, but this system desperately needs to evolve. But the Commanders offense played well enough to win Sunday — 26 points wins most games. Jones: Entering the season, it seemed realistic to expect the Texans to take another step forward after last year’s success. AdvertisementNguyen: All year, there were signs that the Texans offense is deeply flawed despite their weapons on the outside. So passing over Lock to play DeVito feels like an order from above rather than a coaching decision.

Does Sunday’s wild win in Pittsburgh tell us more about the Steelers or Ravens when it comes to AFC contenders? Nguyen: This Packers team is better than last year’s edition. A month from now, are we going to be talking about the Dolphins, Colts, both or neither as competing for the seventh seed in the AFC? Pompei: The competition for the last wild-card spot in the AFC could come down to the Dolphins, Colts, Bengals and Broncos. The Colts defense has improved, and on Sunday Richardson executed better than he did prior to his benching.

As an unwed woman and frequent wedding guest in 2024, I am maybe too attuned to the ways weddings have become increasingly extravagant. On Reddit, one user noted that being a bridesmaid in her best friend’s wedding in a Scandinavian town, where the friend’s family is from, is going to run her $8,000. And some guests are being denied plus-ones, making attending the wedding less of a joy and more of a dutiful chore. Even in times of high inflation, like now, while some may try to cut back, expensive weddings prevail. Weddings are the rare time in life where everyone you care about will likely come together — friends, family and loved ones.

Pennsylvania's hotly contested Senate race hangs in the balance nearly a week after Election Day, with Republicans declaring victory and Democrats holding out hope that the remaining batch of outstanding ballots will allow them to close the gap. A McCormick victory would further pad Republicans' newfound majority in the Senate, where they will hold at least 52 seats after the election. But even before the new Congress is sworn in next January, the outcome of the Pennsylvania race could have implications for the Senate leadership elections Wednesday. Pennsylvanians can cast provisional ballots when officials are unclear about their eligibility or there were issues with their returned mail-in ballots. McCormick’s campaign filed two lawsuits Friday challenging an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 provisional ballots in Philadelphia that may have issues, such as missing signatures.

After winning in Washington, the first game of a daunting second-half schedule, do the Pittsburgh Steelers belong in the Super Bowl conversation? Setting aside how they compare to the rest of the NFL in 2024, how do you feel this year’s edition compares to the Chiefs teams of the past two seasons? Good teams, remember, almost always get fortuitous bounces and kind calls. This Chiefs team is more balanced and more well-rounded. And so, although the delivery may differ, this Chiefs team is just as equipped to make a Super Bowl run as any of the previous iterations.

The Athletic NFL writers Mike Jones, Ted Nguyen and Michael Silver share their thoughts on all of these storylines and more. After Week 9 wins by the Ravens, Bills, Bengals and Chargers, who is the second-best team in the AFC? If you don’t have an elite quarterback, don’t even bother trying to insert yourself into the “Who Will Win the AFC?” conversation. Denver has an elite defense but the Ravens offense presents unique challenges that they won’t see every week. That score doesn’t indicate how good this Broncos team actually is.

In 2020, Asian American turnout in Georgia surged by 84% compared with the previous presidential election, playing a larger role than ever in an election that Joe Biden won by a very narrow margin. And much has been made of the local Asian community since then. Many are also newer immigrants, so specific ethnicity — Korean or Vietnamese, for example — is more of an identity than simply being Asian American. “National identity matters a lot more than their pan ethnic or racial identity,” said Karthick Ramakrishnan, founder of AAPI Data, a research group. Many Asian Americans are small-business owners or work in health care or the service industry or for international companies.

Census data released on October 17 indicates that New York recorded the highest rate of people moving out of all 50 states. Business Insider calculated each state's net moving rate by comparing the number of people who moved into and out of each state per 1,000 people. The states people move out of the mostOf all 50 states, New York ranks last with a net moving rate of -9.23. But because of its larger population and the greater number of movers into the Golden State, California's net migration rate lands right after Louisiana's. North Dakota — which has about 780,000 residents to New York's 20 million — had the highest net migration rate at 17.55.

For years, Republican activists have huddled in video meetings to talk about remaking democracy and plan for the election. They successfully lobbied for new state election laws and procedures, diving deep into the intricacies of election regulations. Earlier this year, Ms. Mitchell said she was called by God to shift her attention to the possibility that noncitizens were voting. They were involved in recent attempts to make it easier for State Election Board members to hold up certification while they conduct inquiries into the vote. Ms. Mitchell has talked about a federal elections overhaul should Republicans win the White House and Congress.

Crapser made history as the first Korean adoptee to sue the South Korean government and his adoption agency for damages in 2019. As he awaits a court decision in Seoul, a bill that could grant him US citizenship remains stalled in Congress. CNN reached out to the adoption agency, Holt Children’s Services, for comment but did not immediately receive a response. In response to recent media reports about adoptions from South Korea in the 1980s, Holt International acknowledged the potential unethical practices in a public statement and noted Holt Children’s Services separated from Holt International in 1977. The Seoul High Court is set to render its decision on January 8 regarding Crapser’s seeking of monetary damages.

Both companies see massive potential for the technology, with a grand vision for AR glasses to usurp smartphones as the next generation of computing. Microsoft has also invested in AR technology for well over a decade, launching its HoloLens headset for enterprise in 2016. While Snap and Meta have debuted AR prototypes, they're still years away from selling those devices to consumers. Snap similarly plans to invest in building out its ecosystem, renting its AR glasses to developers who commit to paying $99 a month for a year for the Spectacles. Hanoi, Vietnam AP —Vietnam elected Luong Cuong, a military general, as its new president on Monday, the fourth official to fill the largely ceremonial role in 18 months. The role of the general secretary is the most powerful position in Vietnam while the presidency is mostly ceremonial and involves meeting foreign dignitaries. Vietnam's Luong Cuong takes his oath as Vietnam's President during the autumn opening session at the National Assembly in Hanoi on October 21, 2024. When he became the new general secretary, he promised to maintain the anti-corruption fight. “The installation of Luong Cuong as president is yet another example of the expansion of Vietnam’s police state,” he said.

As recently as 2005, more than half of all automobiles on the road were painted a color other than black, white, silver, or gray. Today, less than 20% of vehicles listed in our database of 1.7 million cars are a color other than black, white, silver, or gray. "Simplifying the production process — with fewer trim options and fewer paint options — is always going to be a winner." Today, car colors are going the way of checked airline bags — you pay extra for something you used to get free. Offering fewer options to average car buyers — and more to the wealthy — enables automakers to bask in the color they care about most: green.

The parents of a Massachusetts high school senior are suing his teacher, school district faculty members and a local school committee for punishments he received after he used artificial intelligence tools to research and create an outline for a history class essay. The lawsuit is one of the first of its kind in contesting school discipline over the use of AI to complete academic work. The complaint said the school’s AI policy was added to the Hingham High School student handbook only the year after the plaintiff’s son was punished. “It’s underregulated, especially in a school setting,” Peter Farrell, the family’s lawyer, said about AI in a phone interview. “AI is an output from a machine.”The student’s school district, Hingham Public Schools, said it was unable to provide further details during ongoing litigation and to respect the student’s privacy.

Are we living through another Lamar Jackson MVP season? The Bears defense has also been phenomenal and will keep them in games even when Williams will inevitably struggle, as all rookies do. Full disclosure: One of my bold predictions entering the season was that Rattler would wind up taking Derek Carr’s job this season. The bigger concern is the Saints’ defense, which surrendered 600 yards and 50 points and allowed the Bucs to convert 6 of 10 third downs. It doesn’t matter who plays quarterback — the Saints defense has to put up some resistance.

Nguyen: With Aaron Rodgers’ age and their defense, the Jets have a small window to make some noise. In theory, Adams would also add some much-needed explosiveness to a Jets offense that entered this week ranked 29th in the NFL in total yards and 27th in points. The Bills’ defense also suffered losses in free agency, and holes went unfilled even though Buffalo’s top competitors in the AFC include elite offenses in Kansas City, Baltimore and Cincinnati. Watson isn’t just not playing well, he’s playing like one of the worst quarterbacks in the league. Maybe improved offensive production would help ease pressure on the Browns’ defense.
