It's part of a statewide program requiring larger businesses to donate edible food and, if they can, recycle remaining food scraps. In 2015, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Agency announced a goal of 50% food waste reduction by 2030. California and Vermont have launched programs converting residents’ food waste into compost or energy, while Connecticut requires businesses, including larger food wholesalers and supermarkets, to recycle food waste. This is the problem.”Despite New York's success, advocates for food waste worry not enough is being done to meet the 2030 goal. “The best solution for food waste is to not have it in the first place,” Bender said.

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump has testified in court as a football owner, casino builder and airline buyer. Trump has testified in court in at least eight trials since 1986, according to an Associated Press review of court records and news coverage. They show clear parallels between Trump as a witness and Trump as a president and current candidate for the office. Trump testified that his $365 million purchase, later approved, would be a “major boost in morale” for employees. In his April deposition, Trump soberly described the presidency as the “most important job in the world” before bragging about saving lives by preventing North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un from launching a nuclear attack.

Wealthy buyers are seeking smaller homes, according to the real-estate brokerage Coldwell Banker. Among them are a desire to have a more efficient and manageable home, and downsizing of family units that grew larger during the coronavirus pandemic, they said. What it all means is that these luxury homebuyers are increasingly competing with regular folks just trying to put a roof over their heads. "That's a lot of people competing with the millennials who delayed homebuying" and their decision to have families, Steinberg said. Though the home is smaller than the one in which they raised their family, they want to downsize again.
James accused Trump and the Trump Organization of fraudulently misstating the values of numerous properties to obtain favorable loans and tax benefits. The company's portfolio in New York state includes 14 residential properties, three commercial properties and two golf courses as well as Seven Springs, according to its website. James cannot bring criminal charges against Trump in this investigation because her probe was a civil one, not a criminal one. The Trump Organization has separately been charged with criminal tax fraud by the Manhattan District Attorney's office and is preparing for a scheduled Oct. 24 trial. A criminal case requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt, while civil cases require a lower standard of proof.
