The North Carolina Tar Heels have hired former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl winner, as their head coach, the school announced Wednesday.

Brown, who previously coached at North Carolina from 1988 to 1997, had led the team for the last six seasons.
He won two championships under head coach Bill Parcells before he accepted the head coaching position with the Cleveland Browns in 1991.
