The problem with political discourse in America right now is that we are all stuck in a social media funhouse mirror booth. I promise you that the way Americans speak about one another online isn’t the way most Americans behave in person with one another. As social media rose and became the main distributor and facilitator of political information, our politics have become more combative and less collaborative. Right now, our political information ecosystem doesn’t reward incrementalism or nuance, instead punishing both and, more to the point, rewarding those who make up the best stories.

Mr. Silver — a 41-year-old American-Canadian carpenter — is something of an unlikely candidate to work on the restoration of an 860-year-old Gothic monument and Catholic landmark in France. There are no longer walls behind the main altar of the Transfiguration Cathedral, a landmark heavily damaged when Russian missiles struck the Ukrainian port city of Odesa. Detritus floated down from the roof as building inspectors, United Nations employees and priests donned hard hats to assess the damage to a cultural icon. Outside, residents gathered around the entrance to the cathedral, which is now boarded up with plywood. Many stopped to kiss an icon of the patroness of their city, which an employee of the church said had been pulled from the rubble. Others came simply to witness the destruction, walking by the church with smartphones in hand filming videos, their mouths wide open.

The monastery on Siniyah Island, part of the sand-dune sheikhdom of Umm al-Quwain, sheds new light on the history of early Christianity along the shores of the Persian Gulf. On one, to the island’s northeast, archaeologists discovered the monastery. Viewed from above, the monastery on Siniyah Island’s floor plan suggests early Christian worshippers prayed within a single-aisle church at the monastery. Acesta a primit o diplomă de gratitudine, un premiu bănesc în suma de 3 000 de lei, iar dacă va continua studiile de masterat la UTM va primi în toamnă și un notebook. Autoritățile locale din peninsula Kamceatka au decretat trei zile de doliu după moartea celor 28 de persoane care se aflau la bordul avionului An-26, prăbușit marți când încerca să aterizeze. La bordul avionului prăbuşit se aflau 6 membri ai echipajului și 22 de pasageri, printre care și doi copii. De asemenea, în aeronavă se afla primarul comunei Palana, unde urma să aterizeze aparatul de zbor. Potrivit presei din Rusia, ultimele imagini apărute de la locul tragediei confirmă faptul că aparatul de zbor s-a lovit de o stâncă și a căzut în mare. Autorităţile au inițiat un dosar penal pentru încălcarea regulilor de securitate la exploatarea unui aparat de zbor.

Proprietarul navei şi asiguratorii au anunţat duminică un acord cu Autoritatea Canalului Suez (SCA) privind despăgubirile ce vor fi plătite pentru că "Ever Given" a blocat traficul prin canal. Ahmed Ali, un avocat care reprezintă firma japoneză Shoei Kisen, a declarat marţi că a fost informat de o decizie a tribunalului economic din Ismailia prin care este ridicat ordinul de restricţie care viza nava Ever Given. La rândul său, Autoritatea Canalului Suez (SCA) a informat şi ea că navei Ever Given i se va permite miercuri să îşi reia navigaţia. Canalul Suez, care leagă Mediterana de Marea Roşie, asigură cea mai scurtă rută de transport maritim între Asia şi Europa.
