A company tied to conspiracy theorist Alex Jones filed Monday to dispute the sale of the Infowars website to the parody site The Onion, calling it improper and unfair. In the morning, First United American Cos., a limited liability company that runs Jones’ online supplements store, filed an emergency motion to disqualify the winning bid of The Onion’s parent company, Global Tetrahedron,’ to purchase the Infowars media empire and other assets. The company running Jones’ online store had placed a competing bid against The Onion to purchase the estate. Infowars was briefly shut down after the sale was announced, NBC News reported, but it has resumed operating since. The proceeds from the sale of Infowars and Jones’ other assets will go toward his estate creditors, including the families of Sandy Hook victims.

Attorneys for X Corp., the firm established by Elon Musk to take over Twitter, filed a notice of appearance on Thursday in the bankruptcy case of Alex Jones and his Infowars platform. The new owners of satirical news site The Onion had been declared the successful bidders for Jones’ controversial platform, alongside families of the Sandy Hook massacre victims. Musk has allowed Infowars to broadcast on X while Infowars’ fate is in limbo. Jones has used Infowars as a platform to promote conspiracy theories, far-right ideologies and misinformation. Jones’ bankruptcy stems from his obligation to pay $1.5 billion in damages to families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims, who filed defamation lawsuits over his false claims that the massacre was a hoax.

WASHINGTON — Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign is hiring Nasrina Bargzie to lead outreach to Muslim and Arab voters, according to a campaign official who first shared details of the plan with NBC News — a move focused on a key constituency that soured on President Joe Biden over his support of Israel. Bargzie worked in Harris’ White House office until July as a policy adviser on Muslim, Arab and Gaza-related issues, as well as reproductive rights, voting and democracy, the campaign official said. Bargzie will focus on talking to Muslim and Arab communities as voters wait to see whether Harris will lay out a different approach to the Middle East and Israel from Biden’s. The Black Muslim Leadership Council Fund, a national Muslim organization that had declared itself “uncommitted” on Biden’s re-election bid, announced this month it was endorsing Harris. Salima Suswell, the founder and chief executive of the Black Muslim Leadership Council Fund, praised Harris.

"It absolutely was the hardest experience that I've gone through in my career," Irwin, 48, said. Adding clarity to her sudden departure from the company, Irwin said that she resigned because it had become clear to her that "there was no longer alignment" between the company and her "nonnegotiable principles." Shortly after Irwin re-joined the company, Musk published a series of incendiary anti-LGBTQ posts to X. "I don't want to have a negative experience every time I log into Twitter," Irwin said about the idea. Irwin wouldn't divulge which companies, but asked if she would ever return to X, Irwin was taken aback.

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, for one, puts her marriage first among her qualifications for elected office.
