CNN —Owen Wilson proved this weekend that he is the hype man we all need. The “Wedding Crashers” actor made an unexpected appearance during rapper Travis Scott’s rain-soaked set at Rolling Loud on Saturday, according to video footage from the Miami music festival. Wilson came on stage during Scott’s 2023 track “FE!N” and riled the crowd up when he exclaimed, “I’m feining for more!” to help kick off performing the song. While the Rolling Loud stage isn’t where you’d typically expect to find a comedic actor such as Wilson making a cameo, the appearance may not be quite as random as it seems. According to Deadline, the actor’s appearance during Scott’s set on Saturday was for a scene in the film.

SYDNEY, Australia — An Australian police officer who fatally shocked a 95-year-old care home resident with a Taser gun was found guilty of manslaughter on Wednesday. He shocked Nowland, who was holding a steak knife, with his Taser, police said at the time. The jury found White guilty of the manslaughter of Nowland after deliberating for almost a week, said a spokesperson for the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the state where the incident took place. Manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison in the state. Nowland’s death came in the same week that a police officer in the same state was found guilty of assault after an incident involving a 16-year-old boy from the country’s Indigenous community in 2020.

TEL AVIV — The Israeli government failed in its “primary duty to protect its citizens” in the lead-up to and during the Oct. 7, terrorist attacks, according to an Israeli civilian report released Tuesday. Some 1,200 people were killed and 250 taken hostage during the attacks as Hamas fighters infiltrated Israel from southern Gaza and launched thousands of rockets. The Israeli report also identified a "major cause" of the Oct. 7 tragedy as a "glaring failure" by Israeli intelligence branches. It specifically pointed to Shin Bet, Israel’s domestic security agency, and military intelligence for their inability to provide timely warnings or act on those that were issued. CNN —Lady Gaga is returning to the desert to mark her second appearance as the headliner for Southern California’s signature Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Pitchfork announced that its annual Chicago music festival would not return in 2025. Shares of South Korean media company YG Plus soared to a seven-month high after the release of a collaboration track between Blackpink member Rosé and Bruno Mars on Oct. 18 topped streaming charts. Rosé debuted in 2016 as one of the four members of Blackpink, under Kosdaq-listed YG Entertainment. Records from The Black Label are distributed by YG Plus, also a YG Entertainment subsidiary. YG Entertainment shares climbed as much as 3.53% on Tuesday.
