Crain confirmed that Campbell was subject to pranks and harassment as a result. “Dan and Holly Campbell are Detroit treasures,” Crain told CNN. NEW YORK (AP) — Wayne Kramer, the co-founder of the protopunk Detroit band the MC5 that thrashed out such hardcore anthems as “Kick Out the Jams” and influenced everyone from the Clash to Rage Against the Machine, has died at age 75. Kramer died Friday at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, according to Jason Heath, a close friend and executive director of Kramer's nonprofit Jail Guitar Doors. "Brother Wayne Kramer was the best man I’ve ever known," Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello wrote on Instagram Friday. The MC5 was more radical politically than most of its peers, and otherwise louder and more daring. Kramer would lead various incarnations of the MC5 over the following decades, and perform with Was (Not Was) among other groups.

Wayne Kramer, whose explosive guitar playing with the influential Detroit band the MC5 in the late 1960s and early 1970s helped to set the template for punk rock, died on Friday. The death was confirmed in a post on his official Instagram account, which said the cause was pancreatic cancer. It did not say where he died. The MC5 (short for Motor City Five) formed in Lincoln Park, Mich., in 1965. Mr. Kramer and Fred (Sonic) Smith teamed to provide the twin-guitar attack that was at the heart of the band’s sound, and the centerpiece of its notoriously loud and frenetic live performances.

A strike will hit operations at MGM Grand Detroit operated by MGM Resorts International (MGM.N), MotorCity Casino and Hollywood Casino at Greektown operated by Penn Entertainment (PENN.O). On Sept. 29, 99% of voting workers from all unionized groups at the three Detroit casinos voted to authorize the DCC negotiating committee to call a strike. Industry gaming revenues have since surpassed pre-pandemic levels, with the Detroit casino industry generating $2.27 billion in 2022, as per the negotiating committee. The Culinary Workers and Bartenders Unions held a picket at Vegas properties of MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment last Thursday.

Velvet Taco recently featured the "Chat GPTaco" as part of the restaurant's "weekly taco feature," or "wtf," to huge success. Velvet Taco, a Dallas-based taco chain featured a ChatGPT Taco as part of the restaurant's "weekly taco feature," or "wtf." He got the recipe from AI by using standard pizza ingredients, then plugged ideas like "Mexican street-corn pizza" into the AI. A new study by RentCafe ranked the popularity of the 150 largest U.S. markets by tracking four metrics in each: the availability of apartments, listing views, listings saved as favorites, and saved personalized searches. Kansas City, Mo., landed in second place, followed by Albuquerque. Though scattered around the country, these markets share important traits — they’re relatively inexpensive and have healthy economies, according to the report. Next up was Detroit, which trailed only Kansas City among Midwest markets. Listings saved as favorites in the Motor City grew by more than 400 percent over a year, and saved searches grew by 150 percent — signs of its revival.
