A frontline medic in Ukraine posted a "skincare" video to TikTok after his other posts were taken down. Brandon Mitchell made the skincare post in part to ridicule TikTok's moderation. But after TikTok took much of that material down, Mitchell made a post on Monday simply labeled: "Skincare routine." The hashtag #fakewar is often added to Ukraine content, while sexually suggestive content might be posted with the hashtag #fakebody. As for Mitchell, he says he's not planning to continue to take on the social media giant over his Ukraine war posts.

Dec 1 (Reuters) - Victims of the Uvalde mass shooting that killed 19 children and two teachers at a Texas elementary school in May have filed a $27 billion class-action lawsuit against an array of public entities and officials, seeking damages for ongoing trauma. It was the deadliest U.S. school shooting in almost a decade, and many children were wounded. A spokesperson for the city of Uvalde said on Thursday the city had not been served with the lawsuit and would not comment on pending litigation. Representatives for the Uvalde Police Department, the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District, the Department of Public Safety and the former chief of the school district's police force did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Separately, the city of Uvalde on Thursday sued District Attorney Christina Mitchell for not handing over investigative materials related to the shooting.

CNN —As the hurricane season closes, a handful of blockbuster storms made history after an eerily quiet first half of the season gave false hope. In fact, we didn’t have any named storms from July 3 to August 31, the first time that’s occurred since 1941. One of those storms was Hurricane Ian, which hit land in late September and will go down as the most memorable storm of the 2022 season. “Tropical storms have formed in every month outside of hurricane season, and there have been a few hurricanes, too,” NOAA said. Historically, we’ve seen at least 15 named storms form in the month of December, even all the way up to December 30.
