"I think a space should be an imperfect representation of the people who are in it at that moment in their lives."
A former tenant added a small kitchen that gives Dahl enough space to have a sink, stovetop, and toaster oven.
It's because of that philosophy that Dahl has made it so that his living space is open to others.
"People are looking out for me more than I'm looking out for myself, and that's a true community.
I knew true community as a child, and I know it again now," he says.
