Tlaib represents Michigan’s 12th congressional district, which includes the cities of Detroit, Dearborn, Southfield and surrounding suburbs. The Biographical Directory of the U.S. Congress says that Tlaib was born in Detroit on July 24, 1976. Tlaib is a natural-born citizen, an individual born on U.S. soil who is therefore automatically a U.S. citizen at birth. U.S. Representative Rashida Tlaib is a U.S. citizen born in Detroit, Michigan.
